2013 June 15. Google Earth was a bit outdated. I started at Green circle which is in front of a long parking lot. I ended down the road where my driver was waiting. I walked the wall to the end then came back along the North Korean border to get some good pictures of the guards. :) Awesome day.

GPS track for a hike up Mt. Bierdstadt, over the Sawtooth, up Mt. Evens, and over to Mt. Spalding.

彰化往台北的1040次, 只有在台中苗栗的新線上跑出120km/h的最高速度....

以往除了這邊還有台中豐原間都會跑到接近130km/h...

顯見515改點後, 這趟自強號可以輕鬆跑不誤點了...

2011.First One of the nestlings in these photos is the Eagle I took the photo of. I was lucky enough to get a few pictures if this immature first winter Bald Eagle at Bluff Point State park, in Southeastern, Connecticut . When I got home and was looking at the photos and cropped it. I could see a Red leg band and also that it had a GPS transmitter on its back. So I sent what I could read of the leg band to the BBL (Bird Banding Laboratory) www.pwrc.usgs.gov/BBL/bblretrv/. Like I said this was all back in 2011. Well a few weeks ago I received an e-mail from Rick Gray, Raptor Program Specialist from BRI Biodiversity Res. Inst www.briloon.org. telling me that it was one of there Tags. Rick asked if I had any pictures and would be willing to send him a few. Rick also said that he would search there records and see if they had any information on the Eagle. Was I shocked when I received there next e-mail. In this photo is the photo I took of the Bald Eagle and the photos that BRI Biologist Bill Hanson who banned the nestlings took. The biologist said that the reason they go to the nest twice is. (1) to gather a precise age from certain morphmetrics and stage of feather growth and (2) to attach the transmitter when the bird is almost fully developed in regards to mass, though still having more feather development.

Rick Gray Raptor Program Specialist for BRI and Biologist Bill Hanson gave me permission to use the two photos of the Nestling Eagles that they took. I explained that I want to put them in to my Flickr photo page. I also want to get the word out about reporting tags on birds. Here again is the web page for reporting bird. www.pwrc.usgs.gov/BBL/bblretrv It only takes a few minutes of time. So please any tagged bird that you can get the tag number of, take a photo of, write it down and send it in. You will surprised with the information you will get. Again I want to thank Rick Gray, and Bill Hanson for letting me use the photos of the Bald Eagle Nestlings.

Here is a link to a website referencing color bands that might help out if you come across other banded eagles with different colored bands which are associated with researchers along the east coast www.ccbbirds.org/what-we-do/research/species-of-concern/v...

Here is some more information Rick sent.

For more than 10 years biologists from Biodiversity Res. Inst. (BRI) and Charlie Todd (ME Dept IFW) have been color banding nestling eagles throughout most of the state. Using the information that observers have shared with us to compile the various data to aid in answering important questions about natal disbursement, monitoring immature BAEA movements, and noting locations and ages of breeding color banded adults in nesting territories across the Northeast.

To date we have banded over 650 nestling Bald Eagles and due to the success of people observing these red banded eagles over 130 individuals have been observed since they were banded as nestlings. One of these eagles has been seen 9 times over its 6 years of age. As of 2012 the oldest sighted eagle is going on 8 years old and counting. With the advances in digital photography we have been able to determine that this 8 year old eagle is an active breeding adult on a Northern Maine lake and had successfully raised 4 young in the past 2 nesting years.
