Here are four different angles from Google Earth with a couple of track overlays from previous hikes. The red track is was this latest hike, and as you can tell it'd be quite challenging to hike from where I parked (Burma Rd.) all the way to the 'Nose', and back in one day.
As you'll can see in other shots from this set, I had hiked to two areas of talus and boulders, presumeably left over from ancient floods. By taking coordinates from sattellite photos and then creating waypoints for them on the GPS receiver, it's easy enough to locate features like these in an otherwise quite confusing mesic forest.

This is a tagged female Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle on her way back to the ocean after laying her clutch of 120 eggs and then having a GPS Transponder fitted to her back. She has nested twice in 2007 on Padre Island. Her movements can be tracked via www.Seaturtle.org
