By replacing the Giotto stitch pattern with the one from the "Go With The Flow" socks from IK Summer 05, I'm able to keep knitting on these socks. Doesn't the GWTF pattern look just right with the Giotto cuff?

For this month’s Play That Funky Music build challenge over at LUGNuts, I sought inspiration from the high speed adrenaline fueled video Go With The Flow by Queens of the Stone Age. One of the most visually striking videos ever made, it shows how a high speed game of chicken through the desert can somehow have sexual overtones…or…um…something. I don’t know…its best not to ask questions. No Lego trucks or figures were harmed in the making of this diorama…although I stepped on a few pieces and that hurt like a bastard. And I’m not too sure of the condition of my sanity anymore. Two ‘52 Chevy pickups and all that black and white sort of drove me loopy.

Looking at my original upload of this wedding party getting rained on but taking it well, I decided it needed some tweaking. I think I like this closer view better. If I knew who they were, I'd give them a copy.

These people (especially the bride) exemplify positive thinkers: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! (and if you can add some gin and tonic to it, all the better!!)

Postscript! July 2010 a tradesman working in my house was checking out the view of the lighthouse, and said: "I got married down there this Spring". Thinking of all various photos I've taken over the year, I asked what month. When he said "May"....I told him to come with me, and showed him the photos I'd taken of his wedding. He loved this one; I printed off a copy, and he later told me his wife was framing and hanging it. I was truly happy to be able to give the bride and groom one of the pics I'd taken of their wedding. I was so impressed with their vision.......the colours, the umbrellas, the joy despite the weather!!! Still.........since he had told me he paid the photographer in this shot approximately $2500.......I couldn't help wondering if they had any of HIS wedding photos hanging on their wall!

For the genuine spiritual seeker, it can often seem like you’re “going without the flow,” swimming against the current.

After all, who today is interested in asking and answering life’s big questions?

Therefore even the most sincere aspiring yogi can gradually be worn down by social pressure and comparison, to the point where he or she may seriously consider,

“Why am I doing this? I feel like a weirdo. I’m exhausted from swimming upstream - I just want to be normal like everyone else.”

This is why keeping company with those who share a higher calling is essential.

Birds of a feather flock together, as the saying goes.

Therefore those yogis who want to maintain their focus on the ultimate goal and avoid being swept away by today’s flow of matter mania value the companionship of other serious seekers more than anything else.
