“What is Creative Mondays?
Monday’s are always a drag. The start of a new week, you have to go back to that routine of going to bed early/get up early. If (like me) you have to commute then you prepare for that long journey into work and that long journey back for the first time after a nice two day break.
So to kick off those lousy Mondays, I’m going to get my creative mind flowing in a positive way. Creative Mondays. A chance for me to show off something unfinished or finished that I’ve been working on throughout the previous week.”
This week was another one of those “brain dump” weeks. Found a new font I’ve been playing around with (quite fond of the cursive/handwritten typeface!) and decided to experiment. I also wanted to play around with various layer styles to give me and idea of what sort of things work or not.
Always therapeutic to open up a blank canvas and see what inspiration hits. Just go with the flow!

I am not a believer in going along with whatever society is promoting at any given moment: I would prefer people think for themselves and not be sheep.
OR lemmings............an anology that was brought home to me while watching an NFB film in grade 10. Something told me in one of those epiphany moments that mankind was in danger of following each other as they jumped off that cliff. Looks like we're in that spot now, where, if we don't start thinking for ourselves and taking action..............most of us will be run off the earth.

For this month’s Play That Funky Music build challenge over at LUGNuts, I sought inspiration from the high speed adrenaline fueled video Go With The Flow by Queens of the Stone Age. One of the most visually striking videos ever made, it shows how a high speed game of chicken through the desert can somehow have sexual overtones…or…um…something. I don’t know…its best not to ask questions. No Lego trucks or figures were harmed in the making of this diorama…although I stepped on a few pieces and that hurt like a bastard. And I’m not too sure of the condition of my sanity anymore. Two ‘52 Chevy pickups and all that black and white sort of drove me loopy.

2013 A Year In photos-#54
Above is a watercolour painting I did called River's End. The river has ended only because of the winter freeze. But, in spring it will resume the journey it has taken all it's life. It represents endings and beginnings.
I chose the title because this to me represents our time. So many changes so many uncertainties but by the same token many opportunities lie ahead for those who will seize them. One door may close but another one will surely open. It's up to the individual to realize this.
The title of my photo today is A Change is Gonna Come. It's my favourite song by Sam Cooke.
