We have a few different apple trees in the fields. They seem wild but then there are a few different varieties. Usually they put out tiny bits of fruit. This year they are all so laden with apples I feel I need to embrace nature's bounty and do something with them. Today I picked some apples from one tree (loading them into the hem of my skirt like in the old days) with the intent of making applesauce in my slow cooker.
Anyway as I was peeling and cutting, this little creature popped his head out. (ugh I hate earwigs) It was a neat sight however So I ran for the camera ... he retreated. I waited for about 15 min and he began to venture out. Gottcha! I just took his picture and the apple goes back out into the field from whence it came with him still in it.
I have never made applesauce before . . .hopefully it will turn out.
Former foster Old English Sheepdog, 'Hunter', tags former foster 'Tanner' while he was trying to get her to play chase. She was too tired to flee, so turned and let him have it. This was actually a bit of a 'nose punch'. No serious blows were landed. By design, I think.

12/6/10 - Slapping for the top was the crux for me, I had a "comedy fall" one of the times I went for it, landing on the mat directly on my bum. It took me totally by surprise and winded me (and being how I am scared of falling, shook my confidence), and it took me a few more tries to commit to making the move again... but I did it, and got a big tick for my first hard (for me at this stage!) outdoor boulder problem! What makes it more satisfying is that its not my "natural style" of climb - its quite a powerful climb, which is my weakest area!
