Normal shot, normal nature. :)

More one photo taking with GoPro 4... I amazed with this product. I never imagine that I could that this type of photos with the GoPro. ;D

With the briefest of breaks in the weather I decided to head out and test my Canon 24mm f1.4L MK II which I have hired for a trip next week. I am happy with this image but disappointed with the amount of de-fringing required. Although the test was short & needs looking at in more detail, my 24-70L out performs this lens.

After a recent cancellation, I suddenly found myself with a free weekend. The weather forecast looked promising and I have been dying to get out and spend some quality time with the camera. Of course it is a bank holiday and no campsites would have space, so I decided the best course of action would be to wild camp. By doing so, I could take advantage of dusk and dawn, save money, enjoy some peace and quiet and have complete freedom to shoot wherever I wanted. I have had a great weekend with some stunning images, Here's my favourite

After days of being hidden under thick cloud, finally Table Mountain shows herself and just in time as this was my final day in Cape Town.

This was a tough shoot. The wind was over 40mph and capturing the gorgeous mist you see rolling off the summit was like taming a dragon; One moment there is no mist, the next you can't see 20ft and your lens is soaking wet. I used a Lee Little Stopper to give me an exposure of 10 seconds, which was perfect for capturing the motion.

If you have been lucky enough to visit the Farne Islands in June, you will know how overwhelming it can be, not only with thousands of sea birds, but with photographers to match. It can be difficult to find a shot that is just yours, so I decided the best course of action would be to look a little closer.

There were lots of Shags nesting on the island, brooding large fluffy chicks, but I wanted something more intimate. I noticed one nest which seemed to escape to frenzy of photographers. I suspected there might be chicks in the nest, but it was difficult to tell. I framed my shot and waited patiently. Finally, after about 15 minutes of crouching, there was a disturbance under the wing as the chick reared its head for a split second, I frantically fired a burst of images and was lucky enough to get this shot.

This was one of those mornings that we dream of. I could see that the sky was going to be amazing as the colours were visible in the early dawn. I took an image about 10 minutes before this photo thinking the light was at its peak, but I couldn't have been more wrong as the sky EXPLODED in to a vibrant canvas of reds, oranges, pinks and purples. Amazing.

I was lucky enough to drive through Glencoe on my recent trip to Skye. It’s a shame that I could not spend a full day exploring, it was just a quick stop off as we had a lot of driving still to do. My plan was to photograph Buachaille Etive Mor en route to Skye. This is a prominent peak, which is instantly recognisable. I wanted to concentrate much more on the form and the shape of the mountain, rather than the landscape in which it sits.

After a night of Wild Camping on Lingmoor Fell (just out of shot) I awoke to a surreal calm. There was not a breath of wind and the reflections coming from the tarn below were irresistible. I managed to pack away my tent before sunrise and make it down to the water just in time. I will most certainly be revisiting this location during the peak of Autumn.

Driving back home from Skye, we passed through Glencoe and over Rannoch Moore. Everything had thawed in the glen, however up on the moore, the Lochan's were still icy. I couldn't resist having a wonder around looking for compositions like this one. I used the excuse of 'needing to stretch my legs'. 40 minutes later and I returned to the car with a big smile on my face. The missus was not impressed.

Driving down to North Yorkshire, my heart was sinking as the earlier light had well and truly disappeared behind flat, dark, grey clouds. On top of this, there was torrential rain. Rather than drive home I decided to make the 20 minute, wet muddy walk to check out the location as I have never been here before. I made the terrible error of leaving my camera in the car, certain the day was a write off. I couldn't believe my luck when I could see the clouds breaking in the distance and when I say 'luck', I mean bad luck.

I decided I could make it (See Facebook ). I could run to my car, get my kit, set up and beat the break in the clouds which was sure to allow the light to sweep over my foreground for just a few seconds. I was soaked, muddy, sweaty and exhausted, but I made it with minutes to spare. I framed my shot and waited. I could see the light coming and it swept over the bluebells and Roseberry Topping for just 10 seconds.

I do a lot of rock climbing in my spare time and I am constantly making mental notes of crags to return to with a camera rather than a rope. Last night I bumped Hadrian's Wall for this wonerful, empty, peaceful location. Not another soul in sight. Pitty.

Not much editing on this one, I used a circ polariser and a ND0.6 HE. Processed in Lightroom; I simply lifted the shadows, a touch of contrast and reduced highlights.

A red eyed tree frog, photographed on a recent trip to Costa Rica. They're nocturnal and not easy to find. I shot this image with my camera mounted on my monopod in one hand and my head torch in my other hand, illuminating from top left. These guys are great to shoot and full of character.

This was taken on my first visit to the Yorkshire Dales. What a stunning place. The weather was atrocious and I really had to fight the elements to get this shot, braving hail and snow showers whipped across the moors by 40mph winds. Well worth the effort, I think. It just doesn't feel right if it's too easy.

Back from Iceland, I thought I would find my local patch a little uninspiring. I couldn't have been more wrong. This is straight out of camera with very little processing. This is not HDR, the sky was just that lovely. I have been waiting for this shot for a while, the tide & the light had to both be perfect for it to work.

My favourite place in the world, Iceland. I was clearing out my computer and organising my images when I came across this photo without any rating. If an image is not rated, it is usually deleted. A lucky escape for me as I love this peaceful image. So simple and uncomplicated. I think it shalln't be too long before I book another visit. FYI this was photographed somewhere around Thingvellir.

On my way home from work I couldn't resist making a detour to my favourite lighthouse. The light was looking so soft and inviting & for once the sea was like a millpond. I had all of 5 minutes to find and take this image before the lovely colours of dusk were gone for another day.
