For obvious National security reasons, flying a kite or worse, flying a multicopter is strictly forbidden next to the monuments or in the city. Trying to get authorizations for KAP is almost impossible and will involve a minimum of 3 or 4 administrations, the police and the army….the only option left was to fly from the Steam Ship Sudan, the last steam ship cruising on the Nile.
Sailing upstream between Luxor and Aswan at a speed of 6 knots against a 2 knots current, the 10 knots NE wind was fiving us a relative wind of 6 knots, hence the kite flying in front of the Ship or on the side.
