1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Second generation (1970 - 1981). 6.6L V8 engine. Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tyres.
The Pontiac Firebird was built by the Pontiac division of General Motors between 1967 and 2002. The second generation debut for the 1970 model year was delayed until February 26, 1970, because of tooling and engineering problems; thus, its popular designation as a 1970½ model, while leftover 1969s were listed in early Pontiac literature without a model-year identification.

Slightly annoying that it kills your music player or FM radio when the voice announces a turn. Would be nice if the music resumed.

I took the office clock off the wall and gave it a "University of Edinburgh" re-vamp. Claire and Carol in the office love it. I also did one for the main teaching lab :-)
The One X camera has a slow motion option for movies. In slow motion mode, its not HD and the quality isn't that great, worse if you zoom in, but effective nonetheless :-)

Supermarine Southampton. The Supermarine Southampton was a 1920s British flying boat, one of the most successful flying boats of the between-war period. It was a development of the Supermarine Swan, which was used for a 10 passenger service between England and France. The Southampton was designed by the team of R. J. Mitchell, better known as the designer of the later Spitfire. Due to the success of the Swan, the Air Ministry ordered six Southamptons direct from the drawing board, which was very unusual. As the Swan had acted in effect as a prototype, development time was short. Southamptons first entered RAF service in August 1925 with No. 480 (Coastal Reconnaissance) Flight at RAF Calshot. In a series of "showing the flag" flights, the type quickly became famous for long-distance formation flights; the most notable was a 43,500 km (27,000 mi) expedition in 1927 and 1928. It was carried out by four Southamptons of the Far East Flight, setting out from Felixstowe via the Mediterranean and India to Singapore.
I noticed lots of people laughing and taking photos whenever they passed in front of a parked car, and being curious I went out to see what was up and this is why. Glad to see people still have a sense of humour in this day and age :-)

This airframe had a long and colourful life. Hunter FR.10 started life as an F.6 XF426 in 1955 and served with No 208 Squadron RAF in Cyprus. A number of airframes were converted to FR.10 standard in the late 1950s and early 1960s to provide the 2nd Tactical air Force in germany and Royal Air Force units in the Far East with a modern tactical reconnaissance platform.
After conversion, this aircraft was flown by No. 2 Squadron and then the No. 229 Operational Conversion Unit. In March 1972 it was presented to the Royal Jordanian Air Force who in turn presented it it Oman in 1975.
The aircraft was flown by the Royal Air Force of Oman until October 1993. It was presented to the Royal Air Force Museum in 2003 "....in furtherance of the strong ties of friendship and co-operation that exist between our Nations and our respective Air Forces." (Air Vice Marshal Yahya bin Rasheed Al Juma).
I'm not sure what "Follow the route" means, but I presume it lets you explore the route. Tapping or pinching to zoom will show turn-by-turn arrows.

Regarding my earlier post of this phenomonen (www.flickr.com/photos/peteredin/6483766453/), I was right. It hasn't swing once over Christmas/New Year period. Its only started a week after the kids returned. My boss is having it looked at on H&S grounds. If he interfers with this light, the ghost (if it exists) may object and may retaliate by causing him illness or death.

One thing I hate are all these online gampling/casino site adverts popping up. You really think you have any chance of winning anything with the free £10 or whatever they give you to get started. They want too get you hooked. The only people or organisations who are the winners are the ones that run these sites.
