Dapia is the heart of Spetses Town and is the new harbour of the island, located in a small area and is the latest settlement of the island.
A small and typical island of Cyclades, Serifos has kept a low profile in tourism. The main port of Serifos is Livadi, about 2 km from Chora, the capital of the island.
Built in the east of the Holy Monastery of Patmos, on the top of the hill with view of the sea, the three windmills of Chora gave their name to the neighboring district of Mili. From the moment of their restoration in 2010, they can be characterized as another jewel of the island, which was awarded by Europa Nostra.
Castle of Chora
It is about a medieval construction that according to the local tradition was built in 1207 by the Duke of Naxos Marco Sanudo and which is constantly inhabited until nowadays. It is one of the fewest castles of Greece that had a constant presence of dwellers through the ages.
The diamond of Serifos is its capital, Chora, which is considered to be a model of a medieval castled settlement, built amphitheatrically on the rocky height of the bay of Livadi , in order to protect it from the pirate invasions.
Livadi is the largest settlement on the island and the only port of Serifos. It is located in the southeastern part of the island in a bay protected from the wind.
Chora is the capital of Patmos lying in the south central part of the island and a few km south of Skala, the main port of Patmos.
