One of the things I'm going to do more of this year is take more time out to do the things I love the most. Photography and travel
- Day Two -
We rode a gondola lift to the top of Big Mountain & saw some of the most fascinating sights of my life. Mountains as far as you could possibly see. Words & photographs do no justice.
- Day Two -
We left the highest point, Clingman's Dome, and continued downwards onto the winding, curving roads. Back onto 441, we followed Oconaluftee River southward. We pulled over along the way to admire (and photograph!) creeks, meadows full of wild flowers, and wildlife. We spotted numerous elks roaming.
We ended up getting "lost" down an odd little road full of small houses, domestic animals, and bizarre decorations; we easily turned back on track. Continuing south towards Cherokee NC, we made our next stop Oconaluftee Visitor Center.
There was a museum, a homestead wonderfully preserved, to show how families lived and survived in the mountains 100 years ago. My Mom was delighted and wonderstruck imaging life on the homestead; I tried my hardest to capture that moment for her!
While five days is too short to properly explore the Faroe Islands, we lucked out with spectacular weather that made taking in the country's dramatic landscapes an absolute pleasure. While people often talk about the Faroe Islands as being very similar to Iceland, Scotland or Norway the truth is it is its own distinct destination with raw shoreline and distinct geological formations that make it truly unique to experience and explore.

Mini Series: Abandoned Gas Station
This is an older series, dating back to the summer of 2017. It was shot with my very first camera, my Nikon D3000. I’ve always had an aesthetic appreciation for deserted places. Shooting this area was the first place I genuinely indulged in that admiration. I aimed to create interesting compositions with junk, decay and ruin - which remains one of my favorite subjects to this day. I view urban abandonment as countless opportunities to explore and create “found” still-life images. Although I still had much to learn in Lightroom with editing, this series is a pleasant reminder of how I evolved as a photographer so far.
My flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok was delayed just at two hours. My connection time in Bangkok was only 2.5 hours. When I landed they had a very attractive (something you don't see in the US) Thai agent waiting for me holding a sign with me name on it. When I met her, she quickly whisked me away on a gold cart to my next gate. Now that's service!

- Day Four -
After our trip around Apgar Mountains, we headed eastward. We drove route 2 through the Rocky Mountains until we met the rolling hills and plains. It felt like we were in a western movie; we even saw buffalo to top it off! We drove out to the town of Browning, where we met a woman in a curio store. She was very knowledgeable & gave us a map to our next destination - Two Medicine Lake & Running Eagle Falls. We saw some beautiful & curious things along the way!

Series: Shapes & Texture
This collection was gathered through many different photo opportunities throughout the years. I always felt these individual photographs did not quite match the original series or spoke to their location. Instead, as a collective, they each represent sort of a puzzle - whether it be from their shape, texture, or composition. After gathering numerous examples and keeping in their own separate folder, it became more apparent that they matched. The simplicity of form, similarity in structure, and two-dimensional visual led me to create this focused series.
