This rare Volkswagen 1600E Auto 'Variant' ‑ the name VW gave to estate versions of its Type 3 ‑ was previously part of the massive collection of 543 classics owned by British dentist Dr James Hull. In 2014, this historic fleet was sold to Jaguar Land Rover and thus the Variant was owned and looked after by its Heritage department for five years, before passing back into private hands.
"This sunroof model, in white with contrasting black interior (and accessories such as window blinds, wind/rain deflector and front auxiliary lamps) was subject to a photographically‑documented restoration in the 1990s. The vendor tells us that, while the interior and mechanical side are in very good order, the paintwork could now do with some improvement.
"Registered in July 1971, the VW now shows 69,570 miles on its odometer. Since 1995, the car has covered just 9500 miles according to the history file. Its restoration during the mid-1990s included having the engine rebuilt.
"The paperwork folder includes the current V5C, showing eight former registered keepers. There are also copies of previous V5Cs, and an extensive collection of bills dating back to the 1990s, plus MoT certificates from 2020 to 2019, 2012 to 2011, 2009 to 2000, and 1998 to 1995, Also included is a copy of Practical Classics from August 1997 with a one-page feature on the Variant's restoration. An album of images chronicling the mid-1990s renovation is also in the file."
Sold for £9396 (including premium) on an estimate of £10,000 to £12,000.

SN57 GMY is a Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini new Lothian Buses 869 in October 2007. It is seen here on Princes Street, Edinburgh whilst working service 37 to Silverknowes.
Seen working a Boxing Day 2012 Shipley - Leeds 760 service usually operated by Keighley and District.
I have saved the best (and darkest) until last ! This stunning beauty is the only known example of a body built by Lambourne of Farningham, Kent - and that is all we know about it. No previous history is recorded for it, or indeed where it went after it left D&E - it was last taxed in 1993. And this might be the only picture of it !

This is my attempt at Centrebus 768 in Airport branded orange, white and blue livery. This bus is used for services to Leeds Bradford Internation Airport.
Rather an easy model to paint, i do like the orange, although i have never been a fan of the Centrebus livery

Öskü már fogalom: vasútfotós kollégáknak valódi zarándokhely, okkal és joggal; gumivasút fronton már kevésbé állunk szerencsésen, hiszen az Ikarusok igencsak megcsappantak a környéken: fordán csak Hajmáskérig jut el HRR-872, tartaléknak is már mindössze három maradt (HCA-630, IIG-983, KYV-344), de lottót nyerni is nagyobb esély lesz lassan, mint kifogni a megfelelő időben és járaton valamelyiket. Így aztán öröm volt az ürömben, hogy nyáron GMY-382 rendszeresen mozgott a 7311-en. Az átjáró előtti kanyargás mellett pedig kihagyhatatlannak ígérkezett a szokásos felállás: az igazi falujáró-feeling Ikarus és templom kompozíció, mielőtt átdöccen a síneken és a 8-asra visszatérve robog tovább Palotára.

A real chance spot in an area of East London I have been to many times before, this had just pulled out of a driveway and I somehow managed to get this quite clear in motion shot, no doubt aided by the elderly driver travelling at quite a slow pace. No surprise to see that they have owned it since new.
