2025, az egykor egész Keleti Blokkot uraló típusból idehaza már kevesebb maradt, mint ahány ajtaja van az egyik túlélő GMY-382-nek. A Dunántúlon a Kisalföldtől is szépen elkoptak, Várpalota, az utolsó "rezervátum" is lassan kiürült; HPR-617 már elbúcsúzott, idén nyáron pedig LOC-730 is selejtezésre került. Így már csak LOC-728 maradt Győr helyiben, HNF-498 Győr helyköziben, valamint Pétfürdőn az ex-hajdús GMY-382, ami munkanapokon, forgásban KLF-149-cel és SRD-204-gyel teljesít egy Veszprém-Palota kanyart Öskün keresztül, ahová épp megérkezik a képen, háttérben a gyakorlótér holdbéli tájával. Az már csak a sors furcsa fintora, hogy iskolaidőben ez a járat (LZF-025) pont itt és ekkor szokott keresztezni LOC-730-cal, amely pont ellenirányba, Palotáról tartott Veszprémbe.
Ipari környezet
A GMY-381 az utolsó ÉNYKK festést magán viselő Ikarus 280-as autóbusz, mely a Volánbusz Ajkai üzemének tagja. A busz leginkább a város helyi járatain közlekedik, de rendszeresen előfordul helyközi járaton is. A képen gáz és távhővezetékek valamint Bakonyi Erőmű Zrt. szállítószalagja között hajt végig igazi ipari környezetben egy délutáni járattal Halimbára, fedélzeten az iskolából és munkából hazatartó utasokkal. Az Ajkai Timföldgyár 2020-ban végleg bezárt, azonban a Bakonyi erőmű a lakótelepek távfűtése miatt ma napig aktívan üzemel. A Bakony erdőiből kitermelt rönkfa feldolgozása után a faapríték a biomassza-tüzelésű blokkhoz a képen látható szállítószalagon jut el.
LK03 GMY is a Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President new as Metroline London Northern VP489 in July 2003. It is see here on Waterloo Bridge whilst operating TfL route 4 to Waterloo.
Next to GMY-382, HPR-617 is the other articulated yellow Ikarus providing local public transport at Várpalota at the moment.
This year is most probably the last that they'll spend in service: Volánbusz is running multiple tenders for hundreds of new buses and is also slowly losing local bus contracts in more and more Hungarian cities.
Lothian's Airlink fleet now carry an allover blue livery as seen here on Volvo B8L/Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB 1136 (SB19 GMY). It was new to the fleet in August 2019.

Délutáni helyközis kanyarját teljesíti Halimbára Ajka utolsóként aktív Ikarus 280-as csuklós autóbusza (Ikarus 280.40M, GMY-381). A jármű korábban a Hajdú Volán színeiben Debrecen városának helyi járatát is megjárta, míg az ottani szolgáltatóváltás miatt felessegessé vált, amikor a Bakony Volán több társával együtt lecsapott rá, s Várpalota és Pápa mellett Ajka helyi autóbusz közlekedésébe is kerültek az egykori hajdúsági Ikarusokból. Többségük később sárga köntöst öltött, de mire a Volánbusznál elérte őket a vég, több is ÉNYKK csíkokkal rótta az utakat, mint a képen látható delikvens is.
At the feet of the Bakony, Várpalota is a very diverse city, worth visiting for anyone: fortresses, castles, churches, blocks of flats, a decommisioned thermal power plant – the town has it all, no matter what kind of era of architecture you are after.
It also offers some great opportunities for train/public transport fans, railway line 20 sees a decent amount of freight traffic, usually with international trains leaving/entering the country at Hodoš, and the rubber-wheeled department does not lack interesting vehicles either.
In this picture GMY-382 is climbing the hills, leaving the view of Várpalota behind, enroute to Pétfürdő. Apart from this unit, there is another 280, HPR-617 and two C80s, JOU-730 and HZE-160. An interesting surprise from the fleet is FKN-933, which is (as far as i know) the only MB O407 in Hungary owned by Volán companies.

Lothian's Airlink service 100 operates between Waverley Brideg, out the railway station, and Edinburgh Airport 24 hours, 7 days a week.
The service is operated by 14 of these Volvo B8L's with Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB bodies, new in the summer of 2019. 1126 (SB19 GLK) and 1136 SB19 GMY) are seen here on Waverley Bridge awaiting to commence airport bound journeys.

...years is the age difference between the two subjects on this photo: GMY-376 may be wearing a Classic disguise, but it rolled out from the Ikarus factory as a 280.40M, just 8 years after harmonica doored mega-survivor, CKC-958 did.
The former of the duo later had its manual gearbox replaced with a ZF4HP automatic, and got the "facelift" treatment well before leaving Jászkun Volán/KMKK Szolnok for Salgótarján in 2016.
Since then it's been running on the local lines, just as good old trusty CKC with its unmistakable 4-0-4-4 door configuration and SZU-axle combo.
