Struggling a little with inspiration for this week's "Triangles" theme for 52WeeksOfPix2013 and have a busy week ahead, so herewith my triangles :-).

Believe it or not, this particular loaf of freshly-baked bread is actually triangular in shape so given this week's theme I just HAD to buy it - and very tasty it is too.

52 Weeks of Pix 2012 - FOOD - I love visiting the local Turkish-owned grocery store as there is always amazing produce on offer, including these brightly hued peppers (or peperoni as we came to know them in Italy, hence the title). I bought them with the intention of using them for my ODC Daily Challenge (www.flickr.com/photos/globalnomad01/8226009313/ - which will also explain the inspiration for this composition), but after consideration I thought that these would be perfect for my 2nd submission for this week's FOOD theme.

Ok, not quite :-), but these little boxes filled with capsules of sweetness are to be found in every one of my bags, along with a pack of playing cards, as they're both great items for distracting Little Globalnomad when she's bored or whingey.

Macro Mondays, In My Bag

it was today - the mercury reached 18C (not sure what that is in Fahrenheit, but it was lovely for early March), so a cold beer at sundown definitely hit the spot for Mr Globalnomad (who managed to get home at a decent hour for once).

For 52 Weeks of Pics 2014 - Week 8 Movie Title

"Beverly Hills Chihuahua"

Had to call my daughter's toy Chihuahua into action this week - not quite as good as the real thing, but she made a willing model ! For those who have no idea what the film is all about, it involves the adventures of a group of dogs searching for Chloe, the Chihuahua who lives in Beverly Hills but gets lost and kidnapped in New Mexico because of her diamond studded collar! The dogs are the absolute stars of the movie, amazing animal training, and totally eclipse the humans, including Jamie Lee Curtis in one of the main roles.

It pains me to say that the movie got a two-star Rotten Tomatoes review, which in my humble opinion was completely unjustified. I thoroughly enjoyed both BHC 1 and 2!! (And the scenery of Mexico was stunning)

ODC, Portrait From Behind and Optimism

We woke up to blue skies, birds tweeting and temperatures above 0 Celsius today; it's amazing what a mood lifter and energy enhancer the promise of Spring is!

P.S. Either my lens was dusty or my sensor needs attention, but what's done is done and I still like this twofer.

ODC, High Key

Had so much fun with this challenge I had to upload 2 images, neither of which is precisely what I was aiming for, but I'm short on time today so it was straight to Little Globalnomad's toy collection (no over-thinking, plenty of mayhem).

P.S. Le Frog is named for Jean Reno's "character" in the Aardman Animation production "Flushed Away".

ODC, The Next Level

Technically speaking this is definitely not about going up a level - too many tasks to complete today, but I will bear this challenge in mind and hopefully try something new on the technical front.

However, this IS about going to "The Next Level" with taking Selfies (which is way out of my comfort zone) sans any editing or effects apart from cropping and sharpening. It's also about hamming it up in front of the camera. Although nowhere near Natalie's hilarious antics in front of the camera this being silly thing is, once again, out of my comfort zone so I'd like to think that I've gone up a level with this set up.

Oh, and the red nose is in aid of Red Nose Day (www.rednoseday.com), which takes place tomorrow. If you live in the UK and haven't got your Red Nose yet - buy one now! Mine arrived today and I can confirm that it's impossible to wear it for more than 1 minute before discomfort sets in, but this year's gonks are so cute you have to do it :-)

Tucked up snugly in her little matchbox bed Miss Mouse tries so very, very hard to go to Sleep, but her eyes just won't stay shut! She is so, so excited about Christmas and cannot Wait for Santa to pay her house a visit on Christmas Eve (much like my own Little Globalnomad, who is beside herself about the soon-to-be-here holidays).
