A Northbound Great Lakes Central potash train passes the Approach signal for AnnPere diamond at Howell, Mi.
Great Lakes Central train OSTN-N gets her interchange pickup from CSX rolling westward across the diamond at Ann-Pere in Howell, Michigan as PM era searchlights control the movements on August 22, 2020. This train will roll west on the CSX mainline and then back around the interchange wye onto GLC track and return home to Owosso, "Ann-Pere" was the crossing of the Ann Arbor and the Pere Marquette - Detroit to Grand Rapids line.
Having set out for the Ann Arbor RR at Osmer siding north of Ann Arbor, Michigan. A pair of Great Lakes Central SD35's are ready to head to the north end and get their pickup on December 7, 2025.

Great Lakes Central's OSTN works the interchange yard with CN and Huron & Eastern in Durand, MI. The train originated at Owosso a few miles back, and will be stopping to work interchanges here and with CSX further south at Howell.

Passing southbound through the tunnel-road bridge while exiting Traverse City, Michigan on the former PRR line, returning back to Cadillac is a pair of Great Lakes Central GP38's in early July 2025.
Mazda GLC is rear wheel drive. Known as the 323 or Familia in other markets. The trees meant this was the best angle I could get without going into their yard.
GLC 391 sits inside GLC's High Bay at the old Ann Arbor shops in Owosso under going some work and would soon be off to the paint booth.
The Great Lakes Central eastbound out of Cadillac is passing Morgan Composting “The Home of the Dairy Doo” in Marion at Milepost 209 of the former Ann Arbor Railroad 2nd Subdivision. The power for the train was GP38-2’s 395/396 originally built for Penn Central. If anybody out there in the Flickrsphere knows the train number or symbol for this job please let me know I would appreciate the information.

With water flooding in and the ship listing, she drifted back towards the island and grounded near shore, then rolled onto her starboard side, lying in an unsteady position on a rocky underwater ledge.
The evacuation of Costa Concordia took over six hours, but 32 passengers died.

Great Lakes Central turn OSTN, here northbound thru Hamburg, Michigan having just completed interchange with the Ann Arbor railroad at Osmer siding on the north side of Ann Arbor. Here former Annie GP35 393 leading SD40-2 382 back home toward Owosso on August 6, 2020.
GLC GP35 390 leads GLC GP38-2 396 and 57 mixed freight southbound rolling at 10 mph on the HESR's Owosso Sub towards Durand Yard, MI. The OSTN 25 is passing MP 71 coming into Vernon, MI with 2 of GLC's finest at the controls. Engineer Matt Cox and Conductor Josh Whorley are friends that go way back to when they ran for CSX but now are "seniors" at the GLC. Once the train arrives Durand, they will do a little work and then head south onto the CN Holly Sub for a few miles before getting on the GLC's Ann Arbor District to head to Osmer to work the Ann Arbor interchange. As of late October 2018, the 390 is the last active GP35 with the rest laid up/stored for the time being. The 390 is planned to keep running into 2019 but there are plans to phase out this unit and any in the storage line that may come out for the season.
When chasing the GLC across mid Michigan this is one of the most common scenes you will find, a farm field, a curve, and a large enough clearing in trees to make a shot work. Just west of Vernon, a Saturday extra Howell turn rolls down the trackage rights over the HESR to gain access to the southern quarter of the railroad that separated when abandoned during the Ann Arbor days in favor of paying trackage rights to the Grand Trunk that paralleled the Annie the entire way from Pittsburgh road in Durand to Owosso.
Clouds obscure the backlitty of a northbound Cadillac turn. Funky crossing signals and a flare carbody add to the excitement here.
