Three EMDs from the 35 series lead a local south of Alma Michigan. We started following the train at Clare and quickly realized that it would be working almost every town that had a siding resulting in a slow follow.

The sinking of Costa Concordia.

13 January 2012 9:45PM: Costa Concordia struck a rock just off the Isola del Giglio.
With water flooding in and the ship listing, she drifted back towards the island and grounded near shore, then rolled onto her starboard side, lying in an unsteady position on a rocky underwater ledge.
The evacuation of Costa Concordia took over six hours, but 32 passengers died.

Long before they became the foam magnet they are today, Great Lakes Central ran their trains virtually unnoticed. Back then, their schedule was much less predictable, particularly south of Owosso. Here we see the OSTN stopped on the main in Cohoctah with leased GATX GP38-2s 2663 and 2675. The railroad liked these units so much that they decided to purchase 5 of their own a few years later.
