The Katies got together again at last after a burlesque show at The Red Rum Revue. I had DJ'd a festival earlier in the day before dancing at my burlesque club. I was so happy, but oh so drained.

Ms Katie Parx was there for me to perform for her, and after the show by my side to chit chat with patrons and staff before we whisked away to my patio for some much needed quiet time together.

Lawd I love and adore her...

That pretty blonde Neko cuddled and cared for this tired ginger haired Fae in the best way - her way. :-)

We don;t get to see each other much, but when we do, the time we are apart disappears.

I fully did not expect to get out of the house this morning. I heard about the wild M335 out of Memphis last night, though I had also heard it was coming through pretty early. I am far from a morning person, so that didn't bode well. I decided to set an alarm and see if anyone had spotted it in the morning - if not, back to bed!

Clearly, I did not go back to bed. It had been recently sighted when I woke up, so despite how much I wanted more sleep, it was time to get up and go. I hurried up to Leverett, saw them sitting there, and they got moving bloody quick. It was a race from the moment I saw the IC quartet. But I won!

At Leverett, IC1010 leads our four-pack of all-black Illinois Central SD70s. 1010/1036/1007/1026 made up the consist on CN M335 this morning, and boy was that a wild thing to see. Every time I've heard of an IC quartet coming through it's been while I'm overseas or stuck at a busy work day - for once, it worked out my way.

Nice morning gold light illuminated the twin grain elevators of Leverett, and did a fine job of exposing the dirt and grime on these well-worn 29 and 25 year old EMDs. They're not the oldest in the fleet by any measure, but they do work hard. It's sort of incredible to see them all still in IC black.

All this is to say: it was a good day.

Tugboats... Ungainly, slow, rusty and not to glamorous compared to say, sleek & shiny yachts that ply the waters of the Italian Riviera. In the Port of Carrara, Italy, tugboats aid freighters laden with thousands of tons of Carrara White Marble in leaving the port every year. A good job for an ugly boat.

Lately, we've found new artistic license occasionally shifting reality in what many refer to as photo-art. For me, photography doesn't have to be a reality show - day in, day out. On these pages, a photographer recently took the unsolicited opportunity in comments to tell us of their dislike of the post processing treatments (paraphrased) in a piece I'd posted. I suppose it's unfortunate my work drove someone to actually put such in writing, but hey, it's like this: After 45 years of formal training and self-development, unsolicited negative comment does nothing but solidify an artist's resolve. So, different strokes for different folks. Can't imagine what causes an individual to actually dis another's personal creativity in a public forum. Adopt this rule instead: Don't care for the work? SAY NOTHING!. To those of you who follow us here and elsewhere, you can take this to the bank - I'll never comment negatively on your work unless you ask specifically ask for a constructive opinion. Doing otherwise is just plain rude.

So, to celebrate artistic license, here's another reality shift....!
