In continuing with an animalscape theme, I next present Gizmo. He was so adept at gazing directly into the camera that one wondered if perhaps he hadn't been an actor in a previous life.

Con crunch energy over on twitch to build this lil guy as fast as possible, while getting a kick out of how CUTE their faces are!
Indy is about a year old in this shot! Next doors window looks out onto our back yard and Gizmo spent many hours sitting on the sill watching out. The cat was restricted to the house. Indy was fascinated by Gizmo and could stand there for ages just staring back. In fact I could give Indy a bath while he just looked at him, alas Gizmo passed away a few years ago. The bird isn't real.
This one started off trying to get the chest piece and the head piece to line up correctly... he was going to have legs but then I figured out how get the bottom plate on... I really love how the arms retract on this guy. Quite proud of this one!
He is going to be a large, fluffy gray kitty.
He loves to be cradled like a baby. He puts his paws up to his cheeks and just lays there.
They’re waiting expectantly for their dinner but it was an hour until dinner time. Gizmo always looks innocent. Tigre always looks concerned.

This is Gizmo- my first attempt at sculpting a BJD head. I used Sculpey Real Doll. Everything on him is home made, except the eyes which are from Masterpiece Eyes.
He seems to suit Dollshe oriental skin, but I'll probably try and sculpt a body for him too... in theory, at least :P
Today's story and sketch "by me" you see Gizmo Gofish in front of his Sugar Cane Cabana, here in Cuba.
Gizmo's story started at this very location hundreds of years ago, when Gizmo arrived piloting the Glider you see
in today' sketch. Gizmo found this Island known as Cuba while in low Earth orbit scanning for moon pie ingredients,
using the on board "woblaminium meter" which went "ba-ring, ba-ring" a signal for something sweet below. Gizmo landed
at this location, but found no fruit, or even a tasty vegetable, (later he did find a purple slimy swamp tuber,
he named taro), but that is a story for anther time. As he was wandering around still looking for that sweet thing,
the Wobla meter was still signaling, when he came upon a young native girl sucking on a short tree trunk, (Gizmo having
never seen Sugar Cane) thought it was similar to the tall skinny trees living in the Bambooie crater back on Lippo
his home Moon. Being very curious herself (her name was Claudia), she was not afraid of Gizmo in fact walked up to
him with wide eyed curiosity, (well his were the very wide and large eyes). They communicated quiet well after a
few minutes, she gave Gizmo the sugar cane to taste for himself, he found it very sweet and that it was indeed the
reason for landing. Everything was going well for quite a while, before he had "the accident" which is what we will call
it. It was actually a bad lapse of judgment on Gizmo's part. He and Claudia, became close, very close and were together
from that first day they meet. Gizmo set up the Sugar moon pie machine, then while building the upper cabana lookout
and lunch lounge, (seen in this sketch). Then the accident.
Gizmo was showing off that he could swing on the roof like an alien monkey,
he slipped and fell to the ground like an Alien Ball headed big eyed stone. At first Claudia thought Gizmo was a gone'r
but he as breathing, his big Mellon head was swelling up even bigger than normal. After a week of laying in a hammock,
he woke up, dazed and confused, and remembered nothing, did not know where, or who even what he was. Seems he had
even forgotten who Claudia was, or what she was. But after twenty seven years just as She was growing very old and tired
from running the family Sugar cane moon pie empire, Gizmo became aware of who he was, who Claudia was and was not to
sure about all of their kids, or any of their names but he was OK, and today you see him arriving back from a moon pie delivery. We here at the Rod Blog were happy to bring you another true story, this one about the history of Cuba,
