Went for a longer than usual bike ride today. It was exceptionally warm again (not as warm, as before the snow, though) and an all bright and sunny day, crisp and just so clear air (no mist or fog or anything). It made for an incredible sunset and dawn (be sure to find more pics of tonight's sky over Ammersee).
In revisiting the Girlfriends' theme, I couldn't resist sneaking up on those two, chit-chattering away as the sky prepared itsself for quite a show.

After stopping at the bulk candy store my girlfriend and i decided to hike around the gorge for a few hours. The weather is finally getting nice but the melting snow and ice made for a slippery mess. We made the best of it however. I'm really looking forward to shooting portraits outdoors this year. Here's one of many more to come.
Elvis and Missy Mae are good friends. When Kevin and Elvis pass her house he always stops and waits to see if she will be coming out. She is a lovely Border Collie. She lives three houses down on the opposite side of the street.

I've posted Wolfgang's "girlfriend" before. It's a long, stuffed toy with a squeaker. I've noted how our miniature dachshund seems to recognize her face. He puts the face in his food bowl while he's eating. He props her up on the arm of his favorite chair in the right position so his girlfriend can "see" out the window. He does these things consistently.
Now, we think we've figured out something else. Wolfgang's not just barking randomly at the mop and broom over in the corner. Our tiny dog will place his girlfriend on the floor, near those giants. Then, he'll nudge the mop or the broom with his nose and act startled when it moves. And, in a moment or two, he will snatch his girlfriend from the area, barking at the looming monsters.
If Wolfgang feeds his friend consistently, and helps her to see out the window, then could he also pretend to rescue her?
