my brother's girlfriend is from romania. over the weekend she showed me this beautiful turn-of-the-century blouse, which belonged to her grandmother. it's a fine sheer fabric decorated with gold chevron bands and flower motifs in satin stitch and tiny brass sequins.

I love when people trust you enough to be without make-up when you're around. It's a rare and intimate kind of trust. Maybe that's why I like looking at people without it so much. Makes me feel I'm looking at them with a new layer of honesty between us.
