Fort of Altit is situated in Hunza Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is home to the Hunza's early rulers. Then they move to the newly build fort at that time called Baltit Fort. This food is about 1100 years old, which makes it oldest fort in Gilgit-Baltistan. Near this forts, you can also find its beautiful gardens
The man photographed is one of the 17000 people evacuated to safer locations in Hunza - Nagar and Gilgit districts of Gilgit - Baltistan region. Three relief camps each have been established in Rahimabad and Jutal , two of the most vulnerable villages.
A welcome party was arranged at the Iqra University, Islamabad, for newcomers. The students of Gilgit - Baltistan arranged a cultural stall to display various items pertaining to the culture and lifestyle of their region. It was for the very first time that any such stall was arranged at the Iqra University. The students also presented cultural dances during the program.
Established in 1998, the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School (AKHSS), Gilgit is a premier educational institution for boys, offering classes from grade VIII to XII. The spacious campus with adjoining sports grounds is purpose-built, and is surrounded by beautiful mountains.
In the 18 years since its establishment, around 1,500 students have graduated from the School to study at leading national and international institutions.
Today, our alumni students are serving as doctors, nurses, engineers, managers, principals, teachers, entrepreneurs and officers in the Armed Forces.
AKHSS, Gilgit has a well-qualified and experienced faculty who each hold a Master’s degree from an accredited university. Many of the faculty members also have professional qualifications, such as B.Ed and M.Ed degrees from renowned institutions such as from the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development.
