still to be delivered to the recipient who is still on his holidays!

Another holiday, another excuse to chase my cats around with a camera in a chaotic mess of an attempt to capture some cute photos of the furry devils. This time it was Biscuits and Frank who were the most cooperative, though that’s only relative to Gravy (who dug his claws into my foot and brought the photo session to an early and unpleasant end). Still, I’m pretty happy with the results!

A hello notecard, made with owls snipped from a sheet of Paperchase giftwrap.

Petite mixed media collage on canvas.

Painted with gesso and pink acrylic then a layer of gift (tissue) paper and vintage sewing pattern is added using decoupage seal. Tea cup was drawn by myself and cut from pink and white fabric and handstitched with pink emroidery silk and black cotton thread.Bottom and top are accented with vintage ivory lace and Cuppa~(cuppa tea) is glued game pieces. Glitter in cup area of teacup.Sides are finished with charcoal seam binding and back is finished.

It turned out quite sweet!

It is all in the details for me with my packaging. I always get a ton of compliments from my clients when they get their pictures and honestly, I love working on this part of my business. Here is my new packaging this year with my new logo and colors.

Larger pictures are wrapped in matching brown chocolate paper and finished off the same way.

Okay, where I got it all from -

Explored April 25, 2008 - Thank you all !

My mother LOVES to decorate gifts. Where most of my family simply slaps some paper on a present, my mom goes all out and adds ribbons, bows, and other trinkets to truly make the present a gift. Her mother before her used to outline all of the edges of wrapping paper with glue and glitter, letting each layer dry completely before adding a different color. You almost felt guilty ripping the paper since it looked so beautiful by the time she was finished. My mother likes pretty fancy ribbon and we will often save it from year to year for reuse. This is one of my favorite ribbons… decorated with red and green glittery snowflakes. What better subject for “holiday bokeh” than this my mother’s glittery ribbon?

We are enjoying an unusually peaceful holiday season this year. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Thanks for looking!

Cute, innit?

This was a most unexpected birthday gift from a friend - a wee clock, less than 4 cms tall. I love it, and it has pride of place next to my iMac!

Thank you!

Such a pretty thing to tear.

On a silly note, I accidentally stained my hair pink from the red paint!

A Christmas vignette showing traditional Swedish Christmas preparations presented like I remember them from my childhood.

I took ice skating lessons when I was a kid, so when I found this cookie cutter I had to have it! I put sanding sugar on the cuff to give it a fuzzy appearance.

The wallpapers are giftwrap with reproductions of Art Nouveau fabric designs. The furniture was advertised as possibly Schneegass but is homemade. "Lübbecke in Westfalen" is stamped underneath the sofa. Lübbecke's main historic industry was cigar-making, so perhaps someof the wood used to make the furniture came from cigar boxes.

Having a wee bit of fun with Cinder, surely he would not be amused by such festive wear & surroundings.

If you have not read Cinders story, it is quite a remarkable one since he has been living outdoors since October 2012.

Take a look at his story here and maybe you too will believe in unseen angels that are protecting this little old man.

A meaningful Merry Christmas to everyone & may we have a 2021 that is healthy, happy and back to normal. Be strong, these trying days will too pass. Peace & love ~

Love being able to make my own wrapping paper. I think I've loved wrapping presents since I was a teen. I have to thank my mom for that. She always took as much care on the wrapping as she did finding the perfect gift for us growing up.

I glued pieces of wallpaper and giftwrap paper to my little cabinets by using mod podge!

An arch-shaped building, entirely covered by a huge giftwrap of calligraphic type. The words indicate local places, names and fragments of Dutch poetry.

From 1958 to 1962 DeGrazia created 63 paintings for Hallmark giving them exclusive rights to create greeting cards, giftwrap, playing cards and seasonal themed merchandise. In 1996 these DeGrazia originals were returned back to the public in a silent auction. This oil painting from 1959, “Carnival”, was among those from this historic Hallmark collection. Happy Throwback Thursday!
