Redux 2016- Macro Mondays-My Favorite Theme of the Year
This photo fulfilled three themes of 2016..."The Color Red"
"Begins with the Letter "P" (present)
and one of my fav themes of the year, "Holiday Bokeh"
Because it represents ‘23 - 2 dimes and 3 pennies, little buddy!….
Both of these duckies were gifts from my SIL who knows how much I love macros and duckies— perfect, right? The tiny ducky fits on a dime— there’s a size verification shot and a set-up shot for this posting in my photostream.
for the first Macro Monday theme of the new year, on 1/1/23, of “new”

Crazy Tuesday - theme of March 10, 2020: Fill the frame with one colour
A red ribbon (1,3 cm wide - without the hearts) on a red and glittery gift wrapping paper ... and hopefully cheerful bubbly bokeh to brighten up these crazy days : ))
Wishing you a happy CrAzY TuEsDaY (evening) - and stay healthy !!
(It's a little bit 'crazy' here at work - I probably won't have time for Flickr until very late tonight)

Playing with water and oil was a whole new experience when I unearthed a box that had been in storage. I'd acquired several packages of circa 1950's gift wrapping paper at an estate sale some time ago. What a treasure!

Mel insists on 'helping' when it comes to wrapping Christmas prezzies....and he really is a gift :-) Happy Caturday!

Who knew giftwrapping paper could look like this! Isn't it great what a shallow DOF can do?
Created for Macro Mondays 'Paper'' theme (28-Sep-2020).
A clearer shot of my setup in the comments. Taken using extension tubes as usual.
Hoping you all have a happy MM and a good week. Love from NZ :-)

Mel LOVES Christmas, he gets so wrapped up in it all :-)
This is the same shot I posted earlier today and I opened it up in Analog Efex intending to try a different processing but accidentally landed on this look right away and decided to look no further. Happy Sliders Sunday.
I LOVE to wrap! This year I ordered some adorable tape measures which are coming in handy as I go the extra mile to include something unique with my calendar cases!
I've met my match when it comes to detail!

I swear the weeks around Christmas go by twice as fast as at any other time of the year. In a blur of shopping, lights, giftwrap, eggnog, baubles, Jingle Bells (again!), and a belly full of chocolate..... zoooooooom - it's time for New Year and in this case, a new decade. Yikes, how did the past 10 years go by so fast? I can't deny I always find something a little daunting about a whole new year opening up ahead of me. A new chapter of 365 blank pages (well 366 for 2020), their stories yet to be written. It's a time for reflection and renewal yet I always feel a little anxious too, perhaps moreso this year given how much the world seems to be going insane. I hope we will find our way back to being kinder, warmer, more caring and appreciative - watching out and supporting one another and the world around us instead of all this twisted bitterness. I, for one, will still be doing my part and I truly hope this year will be a global awakening to the power of compassion and kindness to all and taking action to protect this unique and beautiful planet.
So here's wishing all of my Flickr friends a very Happy New Year - of love, happiness, health and compassion. Thank you from the heart for your friendship and support and all the ways in which you each inspire me on so many levels - it really does mean a great deal.
Happy New Year!

Created during my quest for an interesting Macro Mondays 'Paper'' theme shot (28-Sep-2020).
I cut little rectangles off several old bits of wrapping paper I had stashed to use again, layered them up and then cut some ribbons halfway, then rolled them up and stared shooting.
Taken using extension tubes as usual.
Hoping you all have a good week. Love from NZ :-)

A candid street style Snap captured some people looking for book bargains at a London store just after Christmas.
I'm Just A Guy With A Camera From London And Some Place Else.
Along with our busy holiday week-end, we also attended a friend's wedding on Saturday. My husband was the wedding photographer. I managed to snap a few along the way. This image is from our gift that we gave the couple. The wrapping paper I used had images of Victorian little girls playing dress-up. This is of the wedding image. I cut her out and glued it onto the wedding card envelope. I then added glitter spray to add some sparkle. I think she is so cute!

What would I do without "Slider's Sunday"?
This *PHOtage* was very quickly assembled
with a complementary color scheme in mind
. . . it certainly did compost into its own ending!

Another holiday, another excuse to chase my cats around with a camera in a chaotic mess of an attempt to capture some cute photos of the furry devils. This time it was Biscuits and Frank who were the most cooperative, though that’s only relative to Gravy (who dug his claws into my foot and brought the photo session to an early and unpleasant end). Still, I’m pretty happy with the results!
TED: "It's OK, I only gave them pressies a 'lickle' skweeze, jest to make shure nuffink wuz brocken! So I'll jest move away slowly, an' no one will be any the wiser, rite?
An' anyway, it don't matter cuz they'll all get opened in a few more hours, won't they?"

There is always someone around to "help" you when you're wrapping gifts here at Cat Hill Farm
Need some paper shredded?
Need some bows chewed on?
No problem. We have several cats here that would be happy to assist you.

The weather here is so awful I've stayed indoors to take Christmas photos. We started out with heavy snow this morning followed by heavy rain. It's just after 3pm and it's dark already even though the sun is still up and the forecast for tomorrow night is heavy rain, 70-80 mph gales followed by heavy snow!
had I the heaven's embroidered cloths
enwrought with golden and silver light
the blue and the dim and the dark cloths
of night and light and the half light
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
but I, being poor, have only my dreams
I have spread my dreams under your feet ;
tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
