A long-exposure black and white capture of a tram gliding through the city after dark, leaving behind streaks of light and motion. The stillness of the urban environment contrasts with the ghost-like transparency of the moving tram, creating a timeless, almost cinematic atmosphere. Streetlights pierce the night sky while reflections and leading lines draw the eye along the tracks, telling a quiet story of movement through a sleeping city.
Toronto's fourth annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche engaged audiences in a massive participatory celebration of contemporary art. Building on the success of past event's interactive art projects, the concept of audience participation was taken to a whole new level. The public literally became the art they had ventured out all night to see. New interactive tools including the Night Navigator iPhone/Blackberry app and My Night itinerary encouraged everyone to share pictures and schedules, tweet, text and talk to each other as they explored the city well into the wee hours of the morning.

Playing with long exposure for 52 Weeks of Pix, Week 22: "Long Exposure"
I found aniPhone app called "Slow Shutter" that allows up to 15 second exposures! (I had it set to auto and 4 seconds here, you can adjust with a slider to get the ghost effect you want) I will be playing with this in the future!

On y voit 3 des gros manèges en action: l"Extrême tout au fond qui donne des effets lumineux de spirographe, la grande roue bien sûr et également le Fire Ball qui semble vouloir entrer en collision avec la Roue.

Playing with long exposure for 52 Weeks of Pix challenge. Found an iPhone app called "Slow Shutter" to get this ghost effect, added light leak treatment in Snapseed.
The "beast" is the nickname for the steam train you see in the photo.The "beast" started working in the early 1900, used to transport the people who used to work at Lavrio (for the French company in those days), from Lavrio to Athens (about 70km).It used to travel through fields and because of the tremendous noise it made, the black smoke and it's size (very big at that time), the farmers who worked around those areas, thought tha t it was a beast.That is why it was named like that.The "beast" retired between 1950 and 1960, since then it was left at Markopoylos as a site.
I got bored doing my Film Studies work so I thought I'd take a break and do some photography.
Although this is nowhere as good as, it's inspired by Noukka Signe's photo, late night homework.
It's also the first time I've used fades/layering in photoshop :D

"I Want Your Love from Crazy Rich Asians (Grace Chang,
Chinese: Ge Lan 葛兰). Vocal artist Chang laid this track in 1998 for the noted art film Dong (The Hole). For years we’ve sought a fireworkssuitable Asian pop song, in honor of our many Asian alumni. In the sky the busy vocal line is reflected as the colorful shells transform to a popping delayed-crackling effect in waves of stepped sky coverage. Unique Ghosteffect shells highlight this piece. Meanwhile, on the ground, sequenced color and crackling mines pace the energetic tempo."
