One Man and His Dog (1976 to present) is a television series in the United Kingdom featuring sheepdog trials, originally presented by Phil Drabble, with commentary by Eric Halsall and, later, by Ray Ollerenshaw. In 1994, Robin Page replaced Drabble as the main presenter. Gus Dermody took over as commentator. At its peak, in the early 1980s, it attracted audiences in excess of eight million.
The last regular series aired in 1999; however, the same year also saw the first of a series of Christmas specials, which continued annually until 2011, which have been contested by teams of shepherds from the four nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, in the three categories of Singles, Brace and Young Handlers. Dermody has remained as a commentator ever since. The main hosts have been Clarissa Dickson Wright, followed by Ben Fogle with co-host Shauna Lowry, and Kate Humble. Matt Baker joined the programme as a co-commentator (alongside Dermody) in 2006, and additionally became the main host in 2011. In 2012, the show was broadcast in two parts (the first of which was shown live) in September, and Baker was joined as a main presenter by Michaela Strachan.
In July 2013, it was announced that One Man and His Dog is to have a new home on BBC One, as part of rural affairs show Countryfile.
This looks more like a Wolf to me!
A couple of youngsters prepare to get their picture taken on the nose of Pere Marquette 2-8-4 No. 1225 in Durand, Michigan. The Berkshire-type locomotive was on static display, but in steam, during a town festival. (Scanned from a slide)

Les Gets is a small, friendly resort that offers a good mix of slopes in its own right. However, Les Gets is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area (in the Haute Savoie region) which is huge. This will keep everyone happy and you can village hop for lunch. In total, there are over 650 km of piste to explore. However, it must be noted that this area lies on the fringe of the Alps at a lower elevation than most resorts. As a consequence, snow cannot be guaranteed and the season is somewhat shorter. The town is partly car free and traditional in style. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and the party can continue late into the night, if desired. Les Gets has 66 groomed trails that can be accessed by using the 52 lifts; 5 of these are gondolas. There is a terrain park at Les Gets and cross country skiing over 12 kms.

This is what my average photo shoot looks like. Everything's set up on my bed.
This was the first time I had seen and photographed these guys.
This shot was taken with the 500mm and a Canon 1.4x teleconverter on a Wimberley head & Gitzo tripod set up. Amazing stuff.
My good friend, who happens to also be on Flickr, Andrea, challenged me to do an insane self portrait (or selfie as she calls them). So here is my attempt.
Having some Lawn Fawn fun.

The enormous Hitachi 1200 started casting basin excavation at the SR 520 Pontoon Construction Project site in Aberdeen May 2, 2011. The excavator has an 8-yard bucket and can fill a standard dump truck in one scoop.
I returned to Digbeth to get the Digbeth Institute as I noticed that the scaffolding had come down. The scaffolding also came down on Devonshire House.
I got off my bus, and took these shots of The White Swan on Bradford Street, on the corner with Birchall Street.
Haven't seen much of the main Digbeth High Street since my bus route switched to going up Bradford Street.
I am thinking of one day properly doing Bradford Street, but not yet.
Note: I got two pubs called The White Swan. This one and one in Ladywood. Although I prefer this one to the one on Grosvenor Street West (near Broad Street and Sherborne Wharf).
It is a Grade II listed building.
Public house. 1899-1900 by James and Lister Lea for Ansells Brewery.
Red brick and terracotta (terracotta probably from Hathern Station.
Brick and Terracotta Company of Loughborough). Slate roof with coped
gables, terracotta dentilled eaves and pierced ridge tiles. Brick axial
and gable end stacks.
Plan: Situated on corner site. Public bar with entrance on Bradford
Street and corner; passage to smoke-room at back on left and outdoor
and passage to stairs on right in Birchall Street. Jacobean or Flemish
style.
Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. 4-bay front to Bradford Street. Bays
2 and 4 Dutch gabled; canted corner with canted terracotta oriel over
doorway and 3-bay front to right on Birchall Street, the left bay
Dutch gabled, the right plainer lower 2-storey range. Terracotta
ground floor with panelled plinth, the large bar windows and doorways
have cable-moulded arrises, the central doorway on Bradford Street has
segmental pediment on consoles in the entablature above. Bar windows
have leaded panes and stained glass. Recessed wooden canted bays on
first floor with pulvinated friezes and ogee lead canopies and simple-
light windows between with cornices. The attic windows have cornices
and aprons and are in Dutch gables with flanking finials and pendants
and aedicules at apex with semi-circular pediments; pedimented dormer
between gables on Bradford Street front.
Interior: Good Minton tiled interior with friezes in public bar,
passages, stairs and outdoor. Public bar also has tiled ceiling and
panelled front to bar counter and pilastered bar back with arched
mirrors and balustrade and clock above. Partition in public bar has
been removed; but entrance lobby survives; ceiling lined in Lincrusta
paper. Passages have engraved glass in doors and- particularly good
wall tiling which also lines stair well; the stairs have moulded
balustrade and newels. Smoke-room has tiled frieze and small iron
chimney piece and grate.

Think the pub is a Marston's pub now.
Marston's was established in 1834.
