Jacob Burckhardt Haus in Basel, aus der Luft gesehen. Diese Serie von Drohnenaufnahmen zeigt den langgestreckten Baukörper, die Abfolge der Höfe und die Lage direkt an den Gleisen der Basler Bahninfrastruktur. Mich interessierte, wie sich das Gebäude als Teil eines grösseren Stadtraums lesen lässt: nicht nur als Fassade, sondern als Volumen, das sich über Bahntrasse und Verkehrsachsen spannt. Die Luftperspektive ergänzt meine vorherige Serie vom Boden aus und verbindet Architektur- und Infrastrukturelemente zu einer klaren, dokumentarischen Bildsprache.

This series of drone photographs shows the elongated volume of the building, the rhythm of its courtyards and its position right next to Basel’s railway infrastructure. I was interested in how the structure can be read as part of a larger urban landscape, not only as a facade but as a volume stretching across tracks and traffic axes. The aerial perspective complements my previous ground-based series and brings together architecture and infrastructure in a clear, documentary visual language.

Here is my pattern design for this week. I've been looking at different versions of this pattern for months now and I think this is how I like this pattern the best.

おおきに、こんばんは。

今宵も昨晩ご紹介しましたウインターサイクルキャップのお色違いをUP致します。

同じく起毛コットンに直線と曲線を使い幾何学的パターンを染め抜いた「幾何学模様 ピンク／Geometric pattern pink」です。

ツバ裏には同柄の色違い、ブルーのジオメトリックパターンを使用しました。

丁度良い生地厚の起毛したコットンを使っているので暑すぎず寒すぎずライドできます。

耳当て部も同様にブラックコットン製のホルムアルデヒド対策加工をしている布で肌に優しく且つ柔らかく耳を包んでくれます。

冷え込んで耳が凍え痛い経験してはるサイクリストも多いと思います。

昨年も書きましたが昔使ってた冬用サイクルキャップは耳当て部が短く耳たぶも隠し切れずに露出し寒い思いをしたので耳当て部は長めに、頭頂部は深く被れるようにしています。

週末はまた冷え込む予報です。

寒さ対策しっかりしてライドをお楽しみください。

Images from three weeks discovering China, Taiwan, and Qatar. The majority of my trip was a solo food, photography, and discovery trip spent in China visiting several new places while revisiting old favorites.

All of these images are single exposure with basic edits - nothing added, nothing removed. The only use of AI is for noise reduction and dust removal.

Cambridge Central Mosque - Shaykh Yasir Qadhi and Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad on The Challenges of our time.

In downtown Jackson, Michigan, on August 12th, 2018, outside a former office building of the Jackson Citizen Patriot newspaper, on the west side of South Jackson Street, north of West Washington Avenue.

The building was demolished in 2019. I think it was probably from the 1960s, per a review of Polk city directories at ancestry.com.

This room is not trying to be an ordinary gallery. It is a deliberate, respectful recreation of a traditional Navajo hogan, and that changes the entire experience of standing inside it. The walls are built from stacked, peeled logs that meet at sharp angles—this is an eight-sided structure. In Diné culture, the hogan is more than just a house. The eight sides represent the four directions and the four sacred mountains, grounding the shelter in a living cosmology. It is a space designed for safety, ceremony, and community.

Hanging on the back wall is a beautifully detailed, framed work of art—a layered, multi-colored composition of stylized figures, birds, geometric bands, and human forms. It likely draws from the tradition of sandpainting, a sacred healing art where intricate, temporary designs are created on the floor during ceremonies. By placing this artwork inside a hogan rather than on a sterile white wall, the museum invites you to sit on the low wooden benches, look at the piece in its cultural home, and absorb it with the quiet reverence it deserves. It is a reminder that art from Indigenous cultures is not meant to be just looked at—it is meant to be lived with and understood within its own spiritual framework.
