Recovery efforts continue. Chapter FL2 member Chuck Banks loads generators to his SUV to take ti Miami International Airport where they'll be flown to our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico. The agency purchased generators for Tech Ops, but AVS has been very slow to support its employees. Members of Chapter PR2 (AVS) employees pooled their resources to have PASS members in Florida purchase and send them generators. Four have been sent and another seven are on their way.
Generator frame I built up for a guy who was 4x4'ing his motorhome just a little too much, and knocked the original generator frame off. I built the new one out of 3" x 3/8 square tube, with 2 3/8"x6" custom bent skids on the bottom so he wouldn't catch all this on anything. Ran into him at the post office the other day, he said it's workin' good so far! May 2011

My first roll of B&W film! Gotta admit it's an interesting process to think in shapes, patterns, and shadow, as opposed to looking at the colors almost exclusively. I think I'm going to enjoy this :)

I thought this was deadly. Its a generator but hidden behind decorative gates. Photo taken in the Temple Bar, Dublin.
This old bunker was made to protect a generator used to power equipment that observed launches from LC-39A and B. The location is too close for people to be present during launch. Some precautions were taken to protect the equipment, especially in the case of a huge explosion. The equipment was needed before power was available at the site, so a generator was needed. It seems no attempt was made to remove the bunker long after the generator was no longer needed.
