Another great year of racing and pageantry! The weather was perfect, reaching almost 50 degrees. I enjoyed walking the 10 miles to observe the craziness of the event. Aboard the Battleship North Carolina, at Battleship Park, near Wilmington, North Carolina. I visited here the USS North Carolina (BB 55), a North Carolina-class battleship, now a museum ship. This battleship was launched in 1940, commissioned in 1941 and served in World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. She has been at this location as a museum ship since 1962. I visited this ship on April 13, 2018.

Te-Chi Reservoir 德基水庫
At 180 meters high and 290 meters in length, with a storage capacity of more than 175,000,000 cubic meters, Te-Chi Dam is one of the largest/tallest dams in the world. Construction of the dam was started in 1969 by the Taiwan Power Company and was completed five years later in 1974. Its power station contains three 78 MW generators for a total installed capacity of 234 MW.

How NOT to use one of our generators - A truck driver installed this in his own enclosure to use it as a APU. It powered his heating and air when parked. Saved on fuel and did not have to run his truck however the generator did not last long as he modified the exhaust and as you can see, so many other things. Portable generators are just not designed to be used like this.
