This photo shows the length of the Old Woodhouselee Tunnel in it's entirety. I've always found straight tunnels misleading. The Innocent in Edinburgh is straight and a wee bit (but not by that much) longer than Glenfarg South, however, because it's dead straight, it looks deceptively shorter. The same can be said for a certain long tunnel that I explored earlier this year, despite it's length being longer than both Glenfarg tunnels put together, due to it's relative straightness, it doesn't initially seem to be that long. However, once you start walking through that one, it's length soon dawns on you as you realise you aren't making much progress when walking through.
This tunnel, on the other hand, isn't all that long at 111 yards. However, it is bigger than the Auchendinny Tunnel which is only 74 yards in length. At a first glance though, this one looks shorter because it's straight, Auchendinny Tunnel appears longer due to the slight curve.
We actually we able to walk inside this door and around the actual electromagnets of the generator. There are two turbine-generator systems, each capable of generating 40 Mw of power!

Nice weather-sheltered location, in an easy to describe location in case I have to walk a family member through doing this over the phone. When open, the cover plate shields the west side of the input plug, which is the prevailing wind direction - "sideways rain" will drip clear instead of collecting in the plate pad.
This wood factory in China is using their own unusable wood shavings to run a special generator, to help meet the factory's energy needs. Very smart.
That generator is made from minifig stands, and is the whole reason why I built this. It was just so damn cool I had to put it in something. :D

This application generates random pixel landscapes. You can play with them by adding fog, changing the colours of the landscape to see how it looks in another season, adding rainbow and rain as well.

Two distinct designs of generator housings were seen. These were in Willacy and Cameron counties, so I assume they were Vientos I project.
The set of instrument shelters that comprise the third ARM Mobile Facility (AMF3) was installed at the end of August 2013 at Oliktok Point, Alaska. The instrument deck, arctic entry, fuel tank, generator set, and storage containers were installed.

This one is very heavily based on the Cobra truck from Mad Max2, The modified F100 with the boat windshield was perfect for this month's LUGNuts challenge, "Zombie Apocalypse". However, I wasn't quite content with the look of the dart gun on the back. I wanted something different, something that noone else would think of. Well, the lifeguard tower was my wife's idea and it was a perfect fit. You can see there are no guns or armour on it. It's just a mobile lookout tower. Wire nuts are the result of the transfer switch outputs, of course. I replaced three original 1971-vintage breakers while I was shutting those circuits down anyway. Note: stranded wire doesn't hold a good sharp bend.
Ready for the faeplate to go on the transfer switch, now that the 10-gauge stranded wire from the input socket is all hooked up.

Eight Units.
The first four units were 100MW coal fired generators, they were installed in the original station. The remaining four units were installed in the sixties and put out 200MW. In 1971 all the generators were converted to burn natural gas, with the first four units retaining their ability to burn coal.
These have since been removed completely and the bay is empty. At least the workers got a kick out of our 'guest book' on Unit 8. O RLY?
A 1600 ISO version of my bokeh generator test. Lot of noise in the image that I couldn't seem to get rid of in Aperture.
The bokeh generator is a sheet of stucco aluminium about 2 feet behind the clone lit by a 580 EX II (at 1/64th power) with a red cellophane and a 20 degree Saxon PC Grid over it.

Clone lit from camera left by 580 EX II in home made mini softbox (about 100cm x 40cm) at 1/16th power. Fill provided by a white piece of foamcore.
