Wallingford, Conn. - Picture of the queue of trucks with mobility generators being dispatched Tuesday morning from our staging area.
I understand that some folks were without power 10 days a couple years ago, and we were out 3 1/2 days last year. No more. I had the electrician install a crossover and I have 5 kilowatts here to run the fridge, the TV (if the cable isn't out) assorted lights and my computer. The gas station at the Casino is on generator, so if the 2, 16 gallon tanks in the truck aren't enough, I can get more. We are going to be comfortable this winter...
The easiest part of this whole job is complete. I decided on a location for the transfer switch, and mounted it. It'll be at the limit of the 18" flex that the switch came with, and it'll make for an ugly hole below the load center - but as the load center is nailed to two structural studs, I'd have to bust up a bunch more wall to put it anywhere else.
This photo shows the length of the Old Woodhouselee Tunnel in it's entirety. I've always found straight tunnels misleading. The Innocent in Edinburgh is straight and a wee bit (but not by that much) longer than Glenfarg South, however, because it's dead straight, it looks deceptively shorter. The same can be said for a certain long tunnel that I explored earlier this year, despite it's length being longer than both Glenfarg tunnels put together, due to it's relative straightness, it doesn't initially seem to be that long. However, once you start walking through that one, it's length soon dawns on you as you realise you aren't making much progress when walking through.
This tunnel, on the other hand, isn't all that long at 111 yards. However, it is bigger than the Auchendinny Tunnel which is only 74 yards in length. At a first glance though, this one looks shorter because it's straight, Auchendinny Tunnel appears longer due to the slight curve.
This small AC generator came with the Jensen Model 20 steam engine shown in the previous photos. One day I hope to drive this generator with the engine and light the small bulb on the lamp post.

View from the bedroom window of the cottage. I have never lived somewhere with an en-suite generator before...
We actually we able to walk inside this door and around the actual electromagnets of the generator. There are two turbine-generator systems, each capable of generating 40 Mw of power!

using my orig. photo from Italy, I played with it using Deep Dream Generator and Photoshop ++ for a fun effect.
This application generates random pixel landscapes. You can play with them by adding fog, changing the colours of the landscape to see how it looks in another season, adding rainbow and rain as well.
Please, check the application here:

This application was made by using ActionScript 3 programming language.
Here you have part of the code:
HOW TO ADD MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF ONE OBJECT FROM THE LIBRARY TO THE STAGE IN FLASH USING AS3:
for (var i:Number = 0; i < 28; i++)
//28 is the number of instances
{
_Pixel = new pixel_mc();
container.addChild(_Pixel);
_Pixel.x = i * 20;
_Pixel.transform.colorTransform = miCambiodeColor;
miCambiodeColor.redOffset = Math.round((Math.random() * 100) - 50) + 100;
miCambiodeColor.greenOffset = 190;
miCambiodeColor.blueOffset = Math.round((Math.random() * 100) - 50) + 100;
//the last lines give random colours to each single instance of the object
}

Sitting between Jewell and Okolona, Ohio sat this short train on the Napoleon, Defiance & Western sitting shut off with a portable generator running power inside through the cab window. For what purpose? Beats me.
