I know! I know!
We made it past 2000 and that doesn't sound hip or cool anymore...but.....this was the fuzzhead of choice in 2000.
Also....It still cracks me up to say "blah Blah Blah 2000!" So futuristic!
Oooh Ahhh!
The four green heron babies have left the nest, and as they wait for mom and dad to bring them their food they've been exploring their treetop home. This one was very adventurous, even eating the cobwebs it was entangled in. Taken in very bad light. Wildwood Park, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Immature Green Heron, wearing his baby fuzz and exploring his new world. The morning light was rather harsh (but it shows off his fuzz rather nicely), out of about ten shots of this little guy this one was the best. Wildwood Park, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I spotted this little fuzzhead peeking up from its well hidden nest this past spring. I was surprised at the location, which was at eye level near a path in a popular park.
The Adventure Team Commander is on a search and rescue mission deep in the Florida Everglades. A small plane has gone missing and the Adventure Team is sent in to locate it. Search attempts from the air have failed to locate the plane. The Adventure Team Commander knows that "boots" on the ground is the way to get the mission done.
The GI Joe Adventure Team is sent to Quartz Canyon Colorado to investigate some mysterious Indian Petroglyphs. The Adventure Team Commander examines the strange images in the rock. They have a almost alien look to them. He wonders if the "Intruders" have been in this area sometime in the past.
In early June I was watching a young fuzzhead red-winged blackbird fledgling when mama flew in with a meal. I’ll share more from the series later, but this image is my favorite. Her “expression” is priceless!
GI Joe Adventure Team Commander is deep in the Balkans, after having his U2 recon jet shot down. GI Joe sets up camp, waiting for the Search and Rescue team to pick him up.
Also spotted here and here on a tshirt. This photo was taken on the wall of a carwash in Darlinghurst in Sydney.
The Adventure Team has been sent to Southeast Asia to investigate sightings of a new species of wild Tiger Striped Canines. The Land Adventurer checks through the saw grass to see if one is in the area.
The Sea Adventurer and Land Adventurer are on a backyard patrol in their Empire Toys Jeep. This would have been what my Adventure Team ground transportation looked like in 1975. The Sea Adventurer is wearing a "knockoff" LJN Jungle Outpost uniform.

The Sea Adventurer is in search of his missing team members. He finds an abandoned settlement and looks for any signs of the team. He notices some Turkey Vultures circling overhead. Not a good sign for a successful mission.

The Adventure Team is sent on a mission to Woodland Valley on the upper banks of Ralston Creek. It's the Fall of 1978 and the Sea Adventurer is in search of his missing team members. He lost contact with them after a flash flood ripped through the area. Here's a picture of the real Ralston Creek during a flash flood. www.flickr.com/photos/cityofarvada/5758370532/in/photolis...

The Sea Adventurer lucks out and spots some Adventure Team ration packages. The standard protocol is to conceal any team activity. But the heavy rain washed some into the open. He's on the right trail, but where will it lead?
I finished my custom Joe sized Galaga game just in time for the new talking commander's arrival.
