Fuzz went to the TV to look at the Discovery Channel logo but then got interested in penguins. I hear penguins taste like cold chicken.
This is a pedal I built around 94' based on a modified Foxtone octave fuzz. This was my defining sound in a band named "the plastic factory" (yes, after the captain beefheart song). My mates dubbed it the "fuzz factory" for obvious reasons. Note that I never bothered to clean the road grime off of the VW hubcap. To this day, whenever I play through this fuzz, I just seem to play better. It is the most inspiring thing I have built to date. I installed a crude feedback circuit consisting of a cap and a pot from the input to the output, this somehow fed the output back into the input causing ridiculous amounts of noise and gain. The switch on the left adds the octave, the switch on the right adds the feedback, the pots control feedback level, gain, tone, and output level. Truly a piece of art!
This pub is frequented by Nicolas Angel (Simon Pegg) in the film Hot Fuzz. The fountain (right) is also featured (shown with graffiti and during the final shoot-out)
Last night, myself, Angel, Scott, Ashby, Bob and Susan went to an advance screening of Hot Fuzz, from the makers of Shaun of the Dead and Spaced, with a Q&A afterwards with (from left) star Nick Frost, writer/director Edgar Wright, and writer/star Simon Pegg. Easily both the funniest movie I've seen in recent (or not so recent) memory, and most certainly the funniest Q&A I've attended. Too bad I couldn't get a very good photo.
This is my newest crochet pattern! I call him "fuzz pop". He was inspired by a bomb pop popsicle. You can buy the pattern to make one yourself at my website: www.gleefulthings.com or my etsy shop: glee.etsy.com
Another tough to find pedal I tracked down on eBay. Single knob w/ an internal trimmer that controls the amount of fuzz. This thing can get pretty hairy.

Another two-knob Karl Fuzz in progress. I'd finish it right now, but I suddenly have a splitting headache. Had one this morning, too.
My wife thinks I'm eating too much sodium. She's probably right. I grab pre-packaged stuff when I should just cook for myself and apparently the prevailing logic in that industry is that salt, sugar and fat are the only things that can constitute flavor. I mean, I belong to that church, too, but I'm trying to quit it.
