*Kids hold their hands as they walk to school*
*They shake their hands when they meet*
*Brothers hold each others hands when they lose their loved ones*
*They raise their hands to the sky as they weep*
These are the stages expressed in the montage of images as I interpret them. In each the hands are performing beautiful gestures. Who knows what the future will be for those young students...perhaps one day they will pray over the friends they held hands with.

Future Islands, at the Media Club, Vancouver, 4 August 2011. I'd rank them amongst my top ten bands, arriving at their music from a long lineage of prog + indy rock (think Van der Graff, Talking Heads, Tom Waits, Xiu Xiu, Arcade Fire). And they played to a hundred people, at only $15 bucks a head, lead singer Sam Herring on his performance bender, literally in your face. Before the set he was selling merchandise at a small table, and looking for a couch to crash on.

We headed into London (I've missed it) on Saturday for Future Cinema, Santa Carla greeted us in preparation for the out door screening of The Lost Boys. The entire island had been set up with a fair, shops, food stalls and a real American bar. The weather held and we watched the film with 8000 other people whilst Vampires & Santa Carla residents walked (and rode) around.

Amanora Future Towers – The new architectural icon of India
Architectural masterpieces have the ability to transform the landscape of any country. Petronas Towers in Malaysia, Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates are just some of the modern day landmarks that are a reflection of imaginative and functional design ideas. What began as a dream of giving India an architectural masterpiece took the shape of a futuristic yet functional design called Amanora Future Towers.
Future Towers will be developed as a single apartment block on 585 metres x 73 metres of land. It will have 20 – 25 storey towers with altitude not exceeding 100 metres. This architectural icon will have living as well office spaces along with multiple leisure and recreational avenues. It will have collective residential and commercial space of 4,000,000 sq ft and house 3000 to 3500 luxurious and futuristic dwellings. The Apartment City has been designed to give a sensorial experience like no other. Every apartment will either be facing 26 acres of spectacular lush greenery in the centre or vast open spaces that will have an instant calming effect.

The local farmer dug out the street with his tractor, making this mound of snow in the process. As I type it is being turned into an igloo by a couple of enthusiastic local kids!

Unlike it's German "cousin", the American-made M172 in 6.8mm Remington SPC has customized multi-vision scope/fire control unit instead of a night vision scope/fire control unit with ballistic computer and has a integrated laser sight instead of a flashlight. Has the same stock of the M196.
