The 'Autumn joy' sedum draws lots of butterflies when their blossoms open. This Checkered white butterfly (Pontia protodice) was kind enough to let me get a closeup. Most of the butterflies are so skittish that approaching is quite difficult. I suppose those defensive mechanisms need to be strong to survive.

This started with the Frax app on the iPad and was finished (the plant in the window) in Photoshop.
