The Canadian commander, viewing Buron from the FUP (Forming Up Point), elects to focus the axis of his attack up the right flank. It appeared that no German minefields barred this approach, and with any luck Gruchy could be secured early and used as a base to block enemy reinforcements coming from Authie. It could also serve as a forming up point to press home the attack on Buron from the eastern flank. This approach had the added bonus of putting the advancing troops as far away as possible from the enfilading fire originating from Galmanche on their left rear flank, still left uncleared by the British. Now it simply remained to be seen how heavily defended the right flank would be and where the enemy armour and anti tank weapons were lurking.
