The Library at the Armory designed by Louis C. Tiffany, Associated Artists with Stanford White. This room is largely thought to be White’s design except
for the windows and lighting fixtures by Tiffany. It features a magnificent basketweave barrel vault originally painted salmon color with silvered discs.
Dressers are meant to be functional, but they can exude extreme style. Unique Bedroom Furniture with lines that gently curve is ideal in your bedroom. There are no sharp corners, only pleasing arches. As you glance up from the book you are reading, you will notice that your bedroom is so tranquil and inviting. You admire the warmth of the walnut wood of your dresser.
The 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum community gathered to mark the opening of the Mountain Functional Fitness Facility here on post. The MFFF is just one part of a broad based effort by the Command Staff to improve fitness facilities and options for our Soldiers and Families.
These pictures document my attempt to build a fully functional remote controlled LEGO sailboat. As far as I am aware this is the first and only in it's kind (as of 2014). I tested this MOC in 2014 and it performed satisfactorily.

Solar Bike Tree
The Solar Bike Tree is functional art. Part sculpture, part bike rack, the tree has motion-detected, solar powered lights in the treetop. A “nest” houses the battery and electrical components. Up to 15 bikes can be parked at the tree: 12 in the root “racks” around the base; three more can be hung from the tree trunk. The Bike Tree is sited at Science World, close to the 2010 Olympics Athletes' Village. It sits at the confluence of three major cycle paths, including the city's premiere Central Valley Greenway. The Solar Bike Tree replaces a street lamp at the end of an arc of large trees in planters, becoming one of the “trees” in effect. The round hoops of the tree’s canopy echo the spherical shape of Science World. BC Hydro funded the solar component of the piece and Webster Solar Energy was the solar consultant.
Artist Statement:
Bike racks typically don't beautify outdoor spaces, they are merely functional and are often seen to just take up space. The Solar Bike Tree turns a bike rack into a work of art, making it cool to ride and park your bike and perhaps more desirable to have a bike rack in front of businesses or in public spaces. By turning a bike rack into a sculpture, we hope to bring more attention to "alternative transportation" in this time of rising fuel costs and peak oil concerns. It also gives bike owners a safer, more theft and vandal-resistant way to securely park their bikes. –Spring Gillard, Garden Heart Production

O local onde se situa a villa de S. Cucufate inicia a sua longa e diversificada história com a ocupação do local a partir do Neolítico Final, tendo sido depois habitado por uma população pré-romana.
A villa romana apresenta-se como o tipo clássico de propriedade de exploração intensa, exclusivamente orientada para o mercado. Em termos arqueológicos encontra-se articulada com as vias de comunicação e nas proximidades das cidades. Esta ainda pressupõe a existência de uma força de trabalho de cerca 10/12 pessoas de condição servil ou livre, mas não ligada ao proprietário. Assim em meados do século I d.C. deu-se lugar à construção de uma villa, de condições e dimensões ainda muito rústicas, mas que adivinhava já a implantação ou reconstrução de uma nova villa adaptada às necessidades arquitectónicas, estéticas e funcionais da época, ou seja do século II d.C., constituindo um dos poucos exemplares da Península Ibérica de Villae cum turris.
O edifício é abandonado aquando das grandes invasões bárbaras, e só volta a ser ocupado, mais tarde, por volta do século X d.C., pelas comunidades muçulmanas. Aquando da Reconquista Cristã, no século XII, é de novo abandonado pelos seus ocupantes, só voltando a ter vida no século XIII, onde se estabeleceu um convento, que permanece até ao século XVI e cujo santo padroeiro deu o nome ao edifício que é hoje S. Cucufate.
Apesar de ter sido evacuada provavelmente com a ameaça de ruir, a villa manteve a sua capela, cujo culto foi perpetuado até ao século XVIII.
Monumento de altíssimo valor e extremamente bem conservado, a villa de S. Cucufate ficava situada na circunscrição administrativa de Pax Iulia, tendo esta cidade sido, provavelmente, a sua grande cliente no mercado de vinho, pão e de azeite, tendo este tipo de produção ficado atestado pela descoberta de grainhas de uvas perto de uns pesos de prensas, e pelo respectivo lagar.
The place where is located the Villa of S. Cucufate initiates is long and diversified history with the occupation of the place from the Final Neolithic period, having been later inhabited by a pré-roman population.
The roman Villa presents itself as the classic type of property of intense exploration, exclusively guided for the market. In archaeological terms is combined with the communication routes and nearby the cities. This type of property estimates the existence of a work force about 10/12 persons of servile condition or exempts, but not connected with the proprietary. So in the middle of I century AD has been held to build a villa, with conditions and sizes still too rustic, but that it guessed already the implantation or reconstruction of a new Villa adapted to the architectural, aesthetic and functional necessities of the time, namely the II century AD, constituting one of the few examples in Iberian Peninsula Villae cum turris.
The building is abandoned during the great barbarian invasions, and only comes back to be reoccupyed, later, around X century AD, by Muslim communities. During the Christian Reconquest, in the XII century, is again abandoned by its occupants, only to return to life in the XIII century, where was established a monastery, which remains until the XVI century and whose patron saint gave the name to the building which today is S. Cucufate.
Although it was probably evacuated with the threat of collapse, the village kept its chapel, whose cult was perpetuated until the XVIII century.
Monument of high value and extremely well preserved, the villa of S. Cucufate was located in the administrative district of Pax Iulia, this city has been, probably, its major customer in the market for wine, bread and olive oil, being this type of production become certified by the discovery of grape pips near some presses weights, and by the respective mill.

Majolica is a soft ceramic Tin-glazed earthenware introduced from Moorish Spain by way of the island of Majorca and produced in Italy from the 14th century. Majolica is usually restricted to five colors: cobalt blue, antimony yellow, iron red, copper green, and manganese purple. It is this colorful glaze and the intense colors of majolica that make this ceramic stand apart, as illustrated by the Majolica covered dome of S. Giovanni Battista Church in Vietri sul Mare.

The 4th annual earthquake functional exercise was conducted March 12 by U.S. Army Garrison Japan’s Directorate of Emergency Services. The exercise was held in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on the Camp Zama installation. For the first time, a Joint Information Center (JIC) was set up in the Camp Zama Army Community Service building by the U.S. Army Garrison Japan Public Affairs Office and a Mass Care Facility, set up at Yano Fitness Center by the Camp Zama Directorate of Family Moral, Welfare and Recreations. Leicester station is not the best of stations, certainly in the platform department. Plans are afoot to transform the station to re-instate the old bits.
I'm here at Leicester station to get to London with my bicycle.
I'll be riding the Dunwich Dynamo - a challenging free-entry overnight 120 mile bicycle ride on-tarmac from London Fields in Hackney, London to the Suffolk beach at Dunwich. We will return to London via the organised coach/trucking.
It’s not a race. It’s unsupported. There’s no van following. It’s a long way. It starts at around 20:00 tonight. It's quite an adventure.
