Bring the outside - in. Using an open meeting space that is
multi-functional,
providing cubby areas to store personal items and a library of magazines
and publications with provided quite space. This would be used for
teaming,
checking e-mail, meetings.

A whiteboard surrounding the parameter of this board room allows
flexibility when sharing ideas. This concept is very similar to
Conference Center B & C in LP2.

Modular Walls with the ability to configure rooms,
sizable rooms and control noise. Glass walls contribute
to an open atmosphere and allow light to be bounced
throughout space.

for private space to work.

along the windows or long interior walls. The interior floor
space can be used for meeting spaces and desks.

These pods are ideal to achieve personal space without taking up a

Creating spaces that are easy ways to check e-mail or wait
for a colleague before a big meeting, and will bring xESC
people together. Multi use areas can maximize our use of
space - 1) individual chairs for making phone calls or checking email
2) conference tables for informal group meetings/discussion and
3) booth with tables for one on one discussions.The glass enclosure
gives the sense of separation and the environment inside “tells”
people what to do in there. I think this was for a different photo!

The Tampa ESC is in Florida, let’s take advantage
of that by working outside! This picture represent
furniture ideas to accommodate outdoor work seating.

Here’s the bench in its functional glory. No finish yet. Not even all-together glued yet. Going to install a 4/4 shelf for slippers, flip-flops and such. Joinery is bigass wedged-thru-M&T. Totally sturdy, with no racking. The exposed tenons aren’t very pretty. Did the bore-and-pair method, which seemed prudent for thru-M&T. Dimensions - five feet wide, 15” deep, 17” tall

An old propane tank repurposed into a hanging bbq for a balcony. Copper trim was brazed on to create a friction fit seal for cooking. As the bare steel of the body rusts the copper and brass will slowly go green.

I’m not exactly what you’d call a “modern follower of fashion “ ! …. Not even when I was younger ….. before I became the old-fashioned-fuddy-duddy that I am now that is ! ( not sure I ever WAS “young” really ?!?!………….mind you there are no doubt plenty who would say “ I NEVER REALLY GREW UP!!!!…….but wot ho!! LOL)
Anyways!….I’m a great lover of “FUNCTIONALITY “ and to tend put that before AESTHETICS …….even so that doesn’t mean I don’t occasionally appreciate it when I see the odd functional product massively over designed for the sake of how it looks………
Case in hand ….stood about to cross the road the other day and was struck (not literally .. I always remember to use the green cross code ) …LOL … I was struck by the design of this parked car’s headlamp!!
I looked down at it and just thought to myself ……….GOD THAT’S SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A big dedication for such a tiny chapel. Standing in the village square at Charézier, looking at its functional little church, you might be forgiven for thinking that there are no church buildings of any significance in this parish. However, you would be wrong; there are two, and the chapel of the Holy Redeemer and Our Lady of Mercy in the hamlet of Lieffenan, a mile or so from Charezier village, is one of them.
I freewheeled down into the valley of the Ain, Mount Saint-Sorlin towering above me. Lieffenan is a small collection of farm cottages facing across to Blye on the opposite bank. Hidden from view, but signposted from the narrow lane, is the hydro-electric dam I had been dismayed by the previous year; I had thought it was a bridge, but ended up having to make a 20 km detour because it wasn't.
A yellow postvan overtook me, bibbing its horn merrily. It was the postgirl I had asked for directions an hour or so before at Vertamboz. French students staff the postal service in Summer, but only the prettiest ones get to work in the Jura.
She pulled into the farmyard across the village street, and opposite was the smallest church I had ever seen. It measures just 400cm wide by just 250cm deep. There was a tiny window in the eastern wall, and above the main door two corbels that suggested there might have been a porch once. Beneath them, the date said 1572.
Flowerbeds flanked the steps, and an old dog wandered out of a nearby yard to watch as I opened the door. Inside, there was no space for pews or even a proper altar; instead, a narrow bench sat before a little shelf jutting out of the east wall.
Briefly, I stepped out of the 35 degree heat of a Jura summer into the cool stillness of the eternal moment.

Some lego's plus half a tablespoon of black powder and some duct tape makes a fun little 8 bit grenade. The black powder is enough to blow the lego's apart, but not enough to break or deform the individual lego's

The scan makes it very difficult to see this ATC, but it features:
- a tinfoil background that has painted with alcohol inks
- handmade paper with gold swirls
- a metal fairy charm with six beads strung on six strands of purple embroidery floss. It is wrapped around the ATC, but it can be removed and worn as a necklace.
This is another functional/interactive ATC. I've also made tealight ATCs and finger-puppet ATCs.
This is for the ATC Beginners Metallic Swap. It was sent to lissaknit.
finally the patio is complete, private and functional. as per strata regulations i did not attach my trellis/screens to the building rather to my planters. boards have been recycled (flipped, cleaned, stained), furniture got some new paint and most plant pots have been salvaged. in addition to my flowers, i'm growing all my veggies on the patio this year: onions, basil, tomatoes, chard, kale, kolrhabi, beets, carrots, cukes, spinach and much more. honeysuckle and clematis trails up the screens for the hummingbirds and bees!
