I have gotten a lot of invitations to join the "We Hate New Flickr" groups. I have gotten a lot of general inquiries about how to customize the settings. I don't know why....I just have.
So...here it is....
It's really not that different. I panicked at first when all the comments I had made had popped up but when I clicked on the button that says "more recent activity" I went to another page where there is a button that says "Activity Settings". All you have to do is click on that and you can customize what you do and what you don't see. It's actually far more functional that the old home page and the only real difference that I've seen is there are more contact photos and the list appears on the left instead of the right... Now perhaps I'm missing something horrid but I haven't found it yet!
It leaves me mystified at the unbending nature of people....change seems to freak everyone out! Fad causes come and go people...pick your causes by what is important and not by what is new. Now that being said...STOP BUYING BOTTLED WATER AND EVERYONE GO READ THESE ARTICLES which should scare the hell out of all of us! www.newint.org/ Plastic really IS forever.
The Noordvliet canal in Maassluis seen from the high position of the Noorddijk. Below is the Monstersche Sluis, dating back to 1343. Since 2018 it's functional again during the Summer season.

Also known as Watch Cottage, this was originally a rustic building. The Gothic seat and porch were added by Richard Colt Hoare in 1806. 'Gothick' features were popular additions to functional buildings during this period.
Functionally, it's not much of a fence--I don't think it can exclude or confine anything. But it is one of my favorites.

In September 2015, I was scouting out and photographing numerous sites around Lake Tahoe, California and many sites in the Eastern Sierras for a short 5 days.
One the night of September 17, I took the Bonsai Rock Milky Way shot with the moon just above the distant mountain peaks.
The next day we moved down into the Eastern Sierras where I had been planning to photograph the iconic bristlecone pine tree with the Milky Way. Little did I know on the way down how well the moon would come into play with my night sky photography work there.
I used a long established technique to get the moon rays in this shoot while I light painted the bristlecone pine tree with my special light.
In 2017, I will have two 5 day Milky Way photography workshop in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, one over the 3rd week in March and one over the 3rd week in April.
During each of the two workshops, I will conduct 3 4+ hour Milky Way Photoshop post processing session where I teach all the techniques I used to create this final photo but this time it will be more of what is called a "Deep Dive" PS post processing session and workshop participants will need a laptop with Photoshop CS 2017. Lightroom will work but lacks some functionality used in what I will teach.

In last night's dream I ran into Christian Montone at a summer resort. Upon recognizing each other he immediately said, "Go get all your records!" and disappeared. In the next scene he and I had found a large, quiet room and were having a great listening party, playing old records and CDs while just relaxing. One of the records we both particularly enjoyed was one called Slow, Like Lemon Drops by a band called Functional Alabama. The music had a light and happy feel to it. One song that stood out sounded a bit like Skokiaan.
This week’s theme for my 52 project is “HDR.” I’ve tried HDR photography a couple times before, but I haven’t been that happy with the results. I explored two tools available to me: Lightroom and Nik Efex HDR Pro 2. Ultimately, I preferred the results with the Nik software. It gave me more functionality and allowed more adjustments to the photo.
I didn’t have any great ideas for subjects, so I took some pictures from my condo. This is my alternate shot taken during the day. All the little details like the signage and the cars on the street would normally be too dark to see. I don’t tend to like HDR photos that look like they’re glow-in-the-dark. I think this one is a little borderline, but still works.

Rocketdyne produced seven serialized high-fidelity F-1 engine mock-ups. Although non-functional, they were used for early engineering purposes. Most are/were? mounted on test (i.e., non-flight) Saturn V first stages.

- There is no provision for thermal insulation.
- There is no interface panel.
- The fuel high-pressure ducts are straight, rather than the "U"-shaped ducts which characterized later production engines.
- The LOX dome has twin-elbow inlets.
F-1 engine mock-up FM-103 is on display in the Kennedy Space Center Rocket Garden (where, oddly enough, it is completely painted silver).”

to "make-it-work",
as a Fireplace Grill- and- "Make it pretty"....for a new Condo inside of Chicago's former Tribune Towers.
I think - he hit it on the mark!

The supporting wall at Crewe station separating platforms 11 and 12 has a beauty all of its own. Weather worn and stained with the soot of previous generations of railway activity it has tones of cream brown and bronze that are inspired in its construction. The arches are masterpieces of symmetry.
The soft curves of the northbound Pendelino compliment the design features of the wall.

Trinity House vessel Patricia (IMO: 8003632), built by Robb Caledon in Leith in 1982, docked in Lowestoft inner harbour.
Trinity House’s Multi Functional Tender (MFT) Patricia operates around the coast of England, Wales and the Channel Islands undertaking aid to navigation maintenance work, towing, wreck location and marking amongst other projects.
The Space Shuttle Enterprise (NASA Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV-101) was the first Space Shuttle orbiter. It was built for NASA as part of the Space Shuttle program to perform test flights in the atmosphere. It was constructed without engines or a functional heat shield, and was therefore not capable of spaceflight. On September 17, 1976 the first full scale prototype was completed.
