we don't necessarily realize the complexity or even the time spent behind a piece of jewelry. 😉

For this realistic full-mesh watch, where even the gears are functional, some 50 hours of work were required.

Just the scripts, the new HUD and animation 20 hours of work .

You can't make jewelry like this without passion.💗

Thank you for everything, thank you for being there for me as I'm doing all this on my own. 😘😍

I didn't have a micro-bike, so I quickly made one, out of wire scraps.

One could argue that the bike isn't fully functional, but you can't deny the weight is down to a bare minimum...

(the size of the visible part is just shy of 7.5cm)

Rocketdyne produced seven serialized high-fidelity F-1 engine mock-ups. Although non-functional, they were used for early engineering purposes. Most are/were? mounted on test (i.e., non-flight) Saturn V first stages.

In this photograph, the second of these, FM-101 (the first being FM-100), was featured in a paper written by D. E. Aldrich & D. J. Sanchini of the Rocketdyne Division of North American Aviation. See:

heroicrelics.org/info/f-1/fm-101/fm-101.jpg

“I don't know exactly when FM-101 (or any of these engine mock-ups) were manufactured, but they certainly reflect an early design:

- There is no provision for thermal insulation.

- There is no interface panel.

- The fuel high-pressure ducts are straight, rather than the "U"-shaped ducts which characterized later production engines.

- The LOX dome has twin-elbow inlets.

F-1 engine mock-up FM-103 is on display in the Kennedy Space Center Rocket Garden (where, oddly enough, it is completely painted silver).”

The direct copy/paste above is in quotations, along with my paraphrasing from Mike Jetzer’s superlative “HEROIC RELICS” website, which he gleaned from Alan Lawrie’s book “Saturn” and a paper, “Saturn V Booster – The F-1 Engine”, by D. E. Aldrich, located in the Saturn V Collection, Dept. of Archives/Special Collections, M. Louis Salmon Library, University of Alabama in Huntsville, at:

heroicrelics.org/info/f-1/fm-101.html

I’m hoping the above is no longer the case, and that FM-103 was moved out of the elements into the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

Wait…one more. Look at the multiple monstrous card catalog cabinets behind the F-1! Commensurate with the size of the the engine.

Sciacca's biggest industry is fishing and the town's fishing harbour is large and functional rather than picturesque. Around 500 boats are based here. The port can be reached down a road or flights of steps from the main part of town, which is perched up above. Although it isn't picture-postcard pretty, the harbour offers a chance to see a real working fishing industry, get views back towards the town, and to enjoy incredibly fresh seafood at one of the restaurants in this part of Sciacca

The supporting wall at Crewe station separating platforms 11 and 12 has a beauty all of its own. Weather worn and stained with the soot of previous generations of railway activity it has tones of cream brown and bronze that are inspired in its construction. The arches are masterpieces of symmetry.

The soft curves of the northbound Pendelino compliment the design features of the wall.

Thanks to David Hayes for the inspiration.

Check out The Miller's Bakery on Lego Ideas!

Welcome to the Miller's Bakery - where the bread, buns and sweets smell so delicious that even the clouds look like cinnamon rolls. The heavenly taste of these fine pastries is the result of generations of experience, fresh ingredients and perfect craftsmanship. Come in and you may never leave - for you will desire no other taste again!

The Miller's bakery is a traditional wind mill that has been restored and extended by a small bakery hut where the pastries are being sold fresh out of the oven. It is a 3-storied building packed with lovely play features such as a functional grinder that is driven by the wind mill, a cereal delivery terminal, a cereal elevator and a fully rotatable dome on top of the mill. Both the little bakery hut and the back of the mill are easily detachable to access these features. The model contains all the details required to teach you how the wheat is being separated from the chaff and then being ground into flour.

This project has been keeping me busy for about 2 months. It consists of 2998 pieces and is about 44cm tall, 47cm wide and 33cm long.

I hope you enjoy the model. If so, feel free to take a closer look at The Miller's Bakery on Lego Ideas and vote for it! You are also welcome to share the idea and help make this beautiful project become a real set one day!

Decided that I loved the black and white theme from last week, so next few weeks I'm only going to shoot in black and white.

I liked the idea of exploring a functional 'in between' space, not just an object between something.

So a zip seemed a good example.

Our TLT ROKR adapters allow you to add tilt-shift functionality to your adapted lens! Photographer Tim Lawson used our Pentax 6x7 to Sony A-mount TLT ROKR on his Sony A77 to create this epic panorama. The adapter allowed him to shift his Pentax 6x7 300mm f4 lens from left to right, capturing two images on the medium format lens's large image circle which he then stitched together in post.

Coptic art is the Christian art of the Byzantine-Greco-Roman Egypt and of Coptic Christian Churches. Coptic art is best known for its wall-paintings, textiles, illuminated manuscripts, and metalwork, much of which survives in monasteries and churches. The artwork is often functional, as little distinction was drawn between artistry and craftsmanship, and includes tunics and tombstones as well as portraits of saints. The Coptic Museum in Coptic Cairo[1] houses some of the world's most important examples of Coptic art.
