Qasr Amra (Arabic: قصر عمرة‎ / ALA-LC: Qaṣr ‘Amrah), often Quseir Amra or Qusayr Amra, is the best-known of the desert castles located in present-day eastern Jordan. It was built early in the 8th century (probably between 711 and 715) by the Umayyad caliph Walid I whose dominance of the region was rising at the time. It is considered one of the most important examples of early Islamic art and architecture.
The building is actually the remnant of a larger complex that included an actual castle, of which only the foundation remains. What stands today is a small country cabin, meant as a royal retreat, without any military function. It is most notable for the frescoes that remain on the ceilings inside, which depict hunting, naked women and, above one bath chamber, an accurate representation of the zodiac. These have led to its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of three in the country. That status, and its location along Jordan's major east-west highway, relatively close to Amman, have made it a frequent tourist destination.

Katwoude, the Kathammer.
The Kathammer is a windmill in the hamlet of Achterdichting in the village of Katwoude, below Volendam. It is an octagonal inner porter with the function of a polder mill. The blades have a flight of approximately 26.50 meters. The mill is also called De Katwoudermolen. The Kathammer is a name for the nearby village of Katham, now a hamlet of Volendam. While the other name refers to the village of Katwoude.
The mill was probably built in 1650. On Sinterklaas evening, December 5, 1896, the mill was largely destroyed by fire. Miller Klaas Kelderman sat with his 11-year-old daughter on his lap in the mill, when suddenly the lightning struck, killing the girl instantly, and the miller himself was badly burned on his back.
A year later the mill was rebuilt. Hasker Kelderman went to live there. That is why the people of Volendam called the mill, and the lake created by an earlier dyke breach, for a long time the Mill of Asker, and the Breek van Asker.
In 1911 the blades and the cap were removed. The mill retained the function of pumping station. The mill was restored in 1986. A new wick cap was placed on the hull. Since then, the mill bears 1986 as a year.
The mill is owned by the Hollands Noorderkwartier district water board.
Modern - to reject the traditionally accepted or sanctioned (in art and design). To be of one's time, not antiquated or obsolete.
The ethos of Modernism is exemplified the collaborations between Alessi, the Italian utensils company (founded in 1921 -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alessi_(company) ) and modern designers, many of whom come from diverse professional backgrounds. This timer exemplifies form and function, the ultimate modern design accolade (IMHO), having survived many moves and daily use, and was designed by Michael Graves, one of America's leading architects of the 20th century en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Graves.

Graphing Calculator and Graphing Functions Friends today we are going to talk about an important online tool for help you in Graphing of linear equations named as Graphing calculator. First let us elaborate about graphing, Graphing is way of drawing or plotting 2D representation of any linear equation with the help of related coordinates of that equation. Graphing calculator is a fast responsive online calculator which responds with a plotted graph of a linear algebraic equation which is provided as input to the graphing calculator.
This is Grumpy.
Grumpy is a robot build with Lego Power Functions. He can pick things up and drop them where they belong. To give him a little personality, he can shake his had and raise his eyebrows.
All functions are done with only four motors.

The machine's function & design were selected by the environment in which it came into being. People were both parts & players in that place.
That does seem such an odd thing to say about the device. One wants to just say the easier thing, which is that it was designed & manufactured at such & such a company, & belongs to a farmer named John. The company's owners & executives had purposes in mind - intentions - & so does John, & the machine serves those purposes.
But though true insofar as it goes, & adequate for the conduct of business & farming, etc., the easy description is not the complete story. It omits what Darwin noticed, but his theory's co-discoverer Wallace did not, which is that that the whole of the tractor is not explained more sufficiently if one argues, "Its creation was guided by a higher - that is, above Nature, or not of Nature - intelligence."
What Darwin said of the finches he studied in the Galapagos is equally applicable to the object in the picture. It was selected by the environment, which itself, in its entirety including ourselves, is not further explained by the superaddition of a supernatural being (One may ask, "Well, then where did all this come from if not from a god?" But if one asks that, then one must also note the rule asserted by the first premise, which is that one must always ask "Where did the god or any other 'cause' come from?" which, if answered, must then be treated the same way, again & again, forever, a fact noticed by Aristotle).
We all frequently hear variants of the "there must be a supreme intelligence guiding events" argument. At first appearance it may sound reasonable because humans possess some intelligence & are involved in the unfolding of many events. But upon reflection the immensely larger, underlying reality is seen to be quite otherwise. Just as competing parts of a weather system interact with the planet to generate a variety of complex, ever changing conditions, intelligent creatures interact with one another & the rest of their similar & different environments to produce unpurposed, unintended, mindless effects.
Does this mean there is no such thing as a conspiracy? Certainly not. Millions of conspiracies are being worked on at every moment. Plotters are at their tasks in every sales office, every corporate boardroom, every politician's office, every meeting of church leaders, restaurants, bars, lawyer's libraries, staterooms, general headquarters, sporting fields, many living rooms, bedrooms, children's playgrounds & anywhere else people gather. We never know exactly what will come from this wonder, the human comedy, or any part of it, or it all.
Language functions such as grammar, vocabulary and literal meaning are typically lateralized to the left hemisphere, especially in right handed individuals. While language production is left-lateralized in up to 90% of right-handed subjects, it is more bilateral, or even right lateralized in approximately 50% of left-handers.In contrast, prosodic language functions, such as intonation and accentuation, often are lateralized to the right hemisphere of the brain. The processing of visual and auditory stimuli, spatial manipulation, facial perception, and artistic ability are represented bilaterally, but may show a right hemisphere superiority.Numerical estimation, comparison and online calculation depend on bilateral parietal regions while exact calculation and fact retrieval are associated with left parietal regions, perhaps due to their ties to linguistic processing. Dyscalculia is a neurological syndrome associated with damage to the left temporo-parietal junction. This syndrome is associated with poor numeric manipulation, poor mental arithmetic skill, and the inability to either understand or apply mathematical concepts. Depression is linked with a hyperactive right hemisphere, with evidence of selective involvement in "processing negative emotions, pessimistic thoughts and unconstructive thinking styles", as well as vigilance, arousal and self-reflection, and a relatively hypoactive left hemisphere, "specifically involved in processing pleasurable experiences" and "relatively more involved in decision-making processes". Additionally, "left hemisphere lesions result in an omissive response bias or error pattern whereas right hemisphere lesions result in a commissive response bias or error pattern." The delusional misidentification syndromes, reduplicative paramnesia and Capgras delusion are also often the result of right hemisphere lesions. There is evidence that the right hemisphere is more involved in processing novel situations, while the left hemisphere is most involved when routine or well rehearsed processing is called for.
