Brene Brown is one of the world’s leading experts on vulnerability. She states in this book and many others, that success comes to those who show up.

Show up when the times get hard. Show up when you feel like you’ve taken all you can. Show up in the midst of fear and anxiety.

Vulnerability is to let yourself be seen. Your true self be seen. In order to grow and reach our full potential, we need to put who we are, out there for criticism. Too often we get caught trying to portray a version of ourselves that fit what we believe others want to see. The problem is that by not being yourself and showing who you really are, vulnerability and the lessons it can teach you, will never reach you.

Hence, be vulnerable, open yourself up to the world, and take one step closer to reaching your full potential.

OFTEN TIMES THE THINGS THAT HOLD US BACK IN LIFE ARE NOT OUR AGE, THE CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES OR OTHER PEOPLE.

They are the things that we keep telling ourselves on a daily basis. Our minds can be our best servants but also our worst masters.

Here are 7 false beliefs to avoid brainwashing...

The first handheld cellphone call was made 50 years ago, and since then, these devices have become an essential multi-tool that helps us run our lives. However, as our societal dependence on devices increases rapidly every year, it's worth asking: what is our reliance on these devices doing to our brains?

A recent report found that adults in the US check their phones, on average, 344 times a day – once every four minutes – and spend almost three hours a day on their devices in total. One quick phone-related task leads to a quick check of our email or social media feeds, and suddenly we've been sucked into endless scrolling.

But it's not just the use of a phone that has consequences – its mere presence can affect the way we think. In one recent study, researchers asked participants to either put their phones next to them so they were visible, nearby and out of sight, or in another room. Participants then completed a series of tasks to test their abilities to process and remember information, their problem-solving, and their focus.

They were found to perform far better when their phones were in another room instead of nearby – whether visible, powered on or not. That held true even though most of the participants claimed not to be consciously thinking about their devices. The mere proximity of a phone, it seems, contributes to "brain drain".

Happy Monday. Today's positive post seems to revolve around meditation.

The idea that if one let go of external fixations of happiness and simply goes within and seeks to better understand internal processes, to arrive at the point of understanding love. Understanding God. Understanding fulfillment. To get to the CORE of the Self rather than be driven by the self, or a program. To get to the core and to reveal that true nature to self. To become aware on a deep level. Beyond the words. Beyond the thoughts. Simply to observe with the naked awareness, the raw emotions and life force .. the source. To be clear that there is nothing higher than being able to connect with love at the source. To connect is to be worth the pursuit, the seeking, the focus. That there is a driving desire to realize that inner harmony and love deep inside and that nothing can stop it. And that its graceful enough to wait many lifetimes if necessary before you finally begin the journey toward inward surprise.

To finally answer the mystery of what it is it that is behind all of this. Who am I in relation to it and am I it? Inward focus is an intuitive journey. one that is initiated by the self for the self. Nothing else can really create that hunger until one has exhausted the outward for signs of happiness and determines that all that one seeks is probably within .. rather than giving up on life, utilizing life as an opportunity and a platform to dig deeper within.

Life, in all its unpredictability, often presents us with circumstances that we would usually deem as accidents. However, these very moments can reveal themselves as miracles if we pause to perceive the underlying gift they present. Recently, an incident shook me to my core, and subsequently unfolded the most profound lesson about life and the divine.

It was a day like any other when Sol, my faithful canine companion, nearly encountered death. She was hit by a car, a sight that would make any heart shudder. The car passed over her, and for a moment, it seemed we had lost her. But life, in its most mysterious way, had other plans.

Sol didn't just survive that terrifying ordeal; she came out of it astonishingly unscathed. She has no broken bones, no major injuries, and she can even run up and down the stairs as she used to. It was a moment of unexplainable relief and joy, a moment that seemingly defied the laws of probability and logic.

This event, as traumatic as it was, turned out to be a gift beyond the obvious miracle of Sol's survival. It was a moment that brought me closer to something much larger than us, something divine. Witnessing Sol's miraculous escape, with only a skinned face and leg to show for her ordeal, was a revelation. It demonstrated that something far greater than what we can comprehend is at play here. And for this, I am deeply grateful.

Good morning on this beautiful new day. Breathing in the fresh air and feeling alive. Even though I'm a bit under the weather last couple of days I'm grateful. It has allowed me to slow down and experience life a little differently. I like when my clock speed is a little slower.. I can experience more of what I might usually miss.

GOING DEEP

So one new major insight I had that I would like to share is around depth of feeling versus the vehicles for getting there. What I mean is that I realized in all my relationships especially with romantic partners what I really desired was to go as deep as possible. And often that meant sex, but I had associated sex with being able to go deep and that's why I really wanted to have sex as soon as possible. It meant that we were going deep and that's something I really wanted to feel, a deep connection.

BEYOND SEX

So when a partner or potential partner didn't want to have sex I felt like they didn't want to go deep. And on some level I felt rejected.. don't they value, appreciate and respect who I am as a person? Don't they want to go deep with me? Then why are they rejecting my attempt to go deeper?

The main reason why this had come up is because I was attempting to go deep, both intimately and sexually with more than one partner a kind of poly-amorous vision but with two former lovers.

In a highly stimulating world, finding calm within the storm often feels like a herculean task. But did you know there are natural ways to alter our consciousness, allowing us to explore new depths of our mind, expand self-awareness, and achieve an increased state of calm? Here, we'll delve into four of these methods and introduce you to some other fascinating practices.

1. Fasting: A Dance with Stillness

Fasting, a practice deeply embedded in numerous cultures and religions, offers not just spiritual benefits but cognitive ones as well. The focus and alertness heighten, the mind sharpens, embracing a new clarity. But remember, fasting should be approached with care and moderation. Overdoing it may lead to physical harm, including malnutrition or dehydration.

2. Sleep Deprivation: Walking the Edge of Dreams

While it's true that temporary sleep deprivation has been used in specific spiritual practices to promote altered states of consciousness, it's also a double-edged sword. Chronic sleep deprivation can adversely affect health, leading to cognitive impairments and mood disorders. Always prioritize a healthy sleep cycle.

3. Hot/Cold Exposure: The Elemental Embrace

The gentle warmth of a sauna or the invigorating chill of a cold shower can alter your state of consciousness, easing tension and promoting relaxation. However, exposure to extreme temperatures should be done in moderation, as they can potentially lead to health issues like hypothermia or heatstroke.

Hello Full Potential Beings! It's been a while since my last post. It's been a whirlwind of a time here over the last week. Remember that new potential relationship? Well now it's a thing. AND Emma and I got back to together as well. And we're all in love. That's right.. we're calling ourselves a 'throuple' which means a relationship of three.

It hasn't been easy navigating the exploration of this 'throuple'. In fact in the beginning there was a lot of resistance and jealousy but we have been able to work our way through it (really in the first day or two is where we had the most challenge) and now it's just an incredible experience of a dream scenario.

I think the key to making this work is having really open communication, sharing our visions and values and being so sure about the love we all want to share that we're willing to let go of what it needs to look like. In fact Emma was given the freedom to explore another connection, only to realize that she wants to be connected in this configuration from her total freedom.

And that's also the key here.. operating from total freedom knowing this is exactly where we want to be. Nobody is forcing anyone else's vision on the other. And in this freedom we are choosing each other.

I spoke with my former loves Rebekah and Zenith and we all realized how we had different visions but we loved each other so much we were trying to impose those visions on each other.

LOVE THE GREAT AWAKENING IS UPON US

The thing we all want or need is love. But might we be so afraid of the intense experience of love that we push it away, try to protect or control and otherwise avoid it? It might seem like the greatest of all ironies, how could something so sought after and valued be so scary? Yet here it is, right in our faces, a tidal wave of love about to change humanity forever and unless we are open to it, all kinds of 'karma' can arise in our field that we use to keep us feeling comfortable or safe from the bigger shift we'd have to make which is to quantum leap into the unknown field of intense love.

LETTING GO OF ALL THE LAYERSLosing our sense of self, our identity, our comfort zone on every level.. for something that just feels intense, can be a scary premise, and yet that's exactly what we're suppose to embrace. And it seems the only thing that has the power to delay but not prevent this change from occurring is fear itself. Acting as a kind of friction that slows love down, fear is the only barrier preventing this love from flooding into our vessels fully.

CHANNELS ARE OPENING

When the channels are open and the traumas are settled we can start to experience more of this love, flowing into every fiber of our being and compounding with time. This is the tidal wave of love and now beyond just hitting one heart or one being its about to flow into all of us in such quantities we'll wonder where its been all this time.

The key to attention management is getting clear on what question the mind is asking. And then helping it.

Most Thoughts Are Simply an Attempt to Answer a Question

I find by observing the mind very quickly, most thoughts are just an attempt at finishing questions. If you can get to the root question being answered by a thought, you can help the mind along by answering it consciously, or putting the right question at the forefront of your mind.

For example as I observe my mind a thought pops into my head that I should get something from town. Once I mindfully observe the thought I can ask, and what question is this thought trying to answer? The answer might be - "to make sure that someone coming to see me is going to have a better experience."

POSITIVELY FRAME WHATEVER THE MIND IS WORKING ON

So the deeper question I might ask is, "How can I make sure X person has a good experience?" And then I might get a list of additional answers beyond just the thing I was concerned about a moment earlier. Plus now I have a deeper reason or purpose to do the thing I was previous just concerned with.

This might seem really simple and it is! The key to managing your attention better is make sure you're asking the right questions. And the best way to know what questions to ask is to simply listen to your mind think and then help it out! To ask better questions and come up with more solutions to the problems it's working on.

Happy New Day. I'm writing here from our growing village in the mountains of Chirripo (Costa Rica)

I decided that the early I can start writing the better as I usually have ideas fresh from sleep still percolating in my consciousness. Plus I'm more likely to actually write something the earlier I do it.

So this morning I woke up with more clarity around how feeling is really at the core of everything we do and everything we communicate. It is the WHY for most every action. And once we know this we can optimize for it.

For example, lately I've been eating a little too much food and mixing my foods.. I enjoy the feeling of eating during the process, but then sometimes for hours afterwards I will feel bad. But until I actually optimize for feeling I can stay focused in the short term and continually eating even though the way I've been eating hasn't been helping me to feel consistently GOOD.

PRESENT FULFILLMENT VS LONG TERM PREPARATION

So here we already see the classic struggle between what feels good in the present and what feels good over the longer term. In my research it appears that our future and present selves are two characters entirely.

PRESENT SELF VS FUTURE SELF

The present self is a little more carefree and the future self, more conscious about how present actions will affect it. If you only focus on the future self, you greatly limit your ability to enjoy the now, and if you only focus on the now, you effect the future self a little recklessly.

Hello Full Potential beings and good morning! Another beautiful day starting off on the right track.

From making love. To exercising and affirmations to going down to the river and doing Kundalini yoga. To structuring and planning our day. Feeling like we are in a great flow!

As part of that flow I wanted to make sure to get this blog post off to you today.. as I see that this site is growing.. both in terms of number of visitors and the number of views. That means more and more people are finding this site valuable and some people just might be looking forward to it every day. Just the thought of that makes me smile.

We can focus on what's wrong with the world or what's going right in our lives. We can be part of a problem or part of a solution. We can accomplish far more together than we ever could alone. Any challenge you can think of is more likely to be resolved with the more people and qualified people you have looking at it.

This is what I woke up with today. Feeling the importance of having crowdsourced solutions around solving problems, spreading solutions and investing together to make them happen.

Plus enhancing our abilities with both training and use of technology.

Make a list of the challenges you have in your life right now. Perhaps challenges you've been working on for quite some time. What on this list can you personally solve? And what on this list is better off solved by others?

fullpotential.com/blog/solving-our-individual-problems-at...

Check in with each of your individual parts to see where there's any friction.

Sometimes our mind says yes and the rest of our body says no. Or our mind says no and the rest of our body says yes. If we don't check into what is a green, yellow or red, we can miss the messages that allow us to experience a more congruent experience.

Congruence between each of the parts allows us to operate in greater harmony. To feel greater peace. Less fear. So even if you really want to do something from the heart.. take the time to council with the fears of your mind and help it understand why you want to do something.

Or if your mind is a yes but your heart is a no.. see if there's some kind of compromise where both major parts of you can be a yes.

This is just a simple but useful way of looking at the different parts of ourselves to see where there's any friction or resistance so that ultimately we can relax deeper into loving and appreciating all the parts of ourselves and create greater peace from within.

A full body yes experience is ultimately what you want. And once you have this clarity you can start to align with more of the experiences that are a full body yes. So enjoy this beautiful day and find the conditions that are your personal YES!

Hello Full Potential Beings. It's a beautiful new day. And it's the afternoon. It's been a busy day. *Smile*

Today we went to the Feria here (Farmers market) got all kinds of goodies. Then we had a lunch and a deep drop in. (Alexandria and I, then Manuel and Nikita)

The last couple of days have been pretty full on. I've been navigating what feels like an old pattern around Ego validation. Especially in the form of what we coined "Beautiful Woman Validation Syndrome" or BWVS for short. Many have said this stems from earlier experiences with mother as a child. I'm not sure. I just know that some of the most peak experiences of my life stem from having some of the best connections with a beautiful woman (inside & out) and in all ways.

So when in partnership it doesn't always seem to last because I'm still seeking some kind of validation or experience for more. Is this my Ego? This is the part that is interesting because I feel earlier on in my writings and practice I could see my Ego so clearly and I was on top of it. Now I feel like I may have fallen into identifying with it a little more and getting to the meta-level of awareness of it again can be a little more challenging.

Additionally it seems like this pain in my chest, directly at heart center, may in some way be related to identification with Ego, or simply Ego responses arising from the heart.
