Of course the standard laser shot had to be done during our visit. I did place a green laser behind the grotto but it was just not powerful enough.

Couldn't wait for it to get fully dark, so a big waft was in order. I wanted to light the grass a little more and the gravel a little less but this was my fave out of the few I shot. Top Night.

A splendidly decorated house in nearby Almonte that I didn't get around to posting last year. While I await both snow and inspiration this year, I have a few more oldies to post in the meantime.

St Mary’s Church - Hitchin
When I think of my hometown of Hitchin this is probably the one landmark that instantly pops into my head, in fact I think if you asked most people what’s Hitchin’s most well known and biggest landmark they’d all say this place!
It’s probably also Hitchin’s most photographed location too, I remember growing up as a kid sitting in the churchyard gardens eating my lunch, feeding and watching all the bird life, as well as many resident squirrels in the gardens and watching the world go by, I think most of us spent our youth in and around this church in some shape or form.
It was a bit of a Christmas tradition that we’d walk from my Nan and Grandads to the churchyard gardens to feed the bird life and then head back for tea!
Another memory as a kid was hearing them bells ring would often mean another wedding had taken place and everyone used to line the streets for a glimpse at the bride and groom.
Funny how one particular place can bring back so many memories I guess you can say this place has been a huge part of my life, even though I don’t live in Hitchin anymore and haven’t done for the last 5 years having moved to Essex I still class Hitchin home and probably always will do☺️
The name.... refers to beetle larvae that emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other winter hideouts.

I don't generally go out of my way for full moon photos but I took this the same night I was out with the photography club. What I like about it was I actually captured an airplane (lower left quadrant) that I didn't see until I downloaded the photos. OH it was COLD that night!!! 3 layers of clothes didn't prevent me from getting cold! LOL Just thinking about it makes me want to go put a sweater on! Have a great day everyone!
On our only full day in Singapore we visited Gardens By The Bay for the second time. It really is a remarkable place and perhaps this dome is the piece de resistance; an artificial mountain created inside a glass dome that resembles the conditions you would find in a cloud forest.
The Cloud Forest is higher but slightly smaller of the two domes at 0.8 hectares (2.0 acres). It replicates the cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions between 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) and 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) above sea level, found in South-East Asia, Central- and South America. It features a 42-metre (138 ft) "Cloud Mountain", accessible by an elevator, and visitors are able to descend the mountain via a circular path where a 35-metre (115 ft) waterfall provides visitors with refreshing cool air.
The "Cloud Mountain" itself is an intricate structure completely clad in epiphytes such as orchids, ferns, peacock ferns, spike- and clubmosses, bromeliads and anthuriums. The design by Grant Associates was inspired by the Maiden Hair Fungus and consists of a number of levels, each with a different theme, including The Lost World, The Cavern, The Waterfall View, The Crystal Mountain, The Cloud Forest Gallery, The Cloud Forest Theatre and The Secret Garden.
Although I like the previous image more, this one still has quite a lot of merit to it. I like the wave covering the entire bottom 3rd of the frame, as well as the bird naturally in the top left corner. The wings were clipped in other images in the series but are intact here, not to mention the legs kicking the water.
Been focused on other projects but will probably return and search for more White-eyed gulls soon.

All those golden autumn days the sky was full of wings. Wings beating low over the blue water of Silver Lake, wings beating high in the blue air far above it . . . bearing them all away to the green fields in the South.
