I made photos related to "street photography";
I made portraits of people I did not know, this certainly thanks to their sympathy and availability, I thank them very much;
I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate nella cittadina di Taormina (Sicilia);
ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho realizzato dei ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, questo certamente grazie alla loro simpatia e disponibilità, li ringrazio davvero molto;
ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.

À l'époque des Croisades, les musulmans sont installés en Espagne et ne sont plus très loin, à quelques 40 km de la frontière ... Gaston IV le Croisé (fin Xlème / début XlIème), grand défenseur de la Chrétienté développe, pour sa logistique militaire, le chemin de Saint-Jacques, en faisant construire des hospices et des forteresses ...
Ces forteresses médiévales étaient bâties sur un plan similaire: un corps de logis, une tour à signaux, un escalier d'accès comportant un balcon. L'espace était suffisamment vaste pour que les troupes s'entraînent au combat ... L'enceinte du château allait jusqu'à l'église (dont la tour remonte au XIIème). Les ordres militaro-religieux étaient installés à proximité. La tour de guet de Sainte-Colome, haute d'une vingtaine de mètres, servait à communiquer avec les autres forteresses environnantes, celle de Castet et d'Iseste. Elles prévenaient de l'arrivée des envahisseurs, par des feux allumés visibles de loin ! En Béarn, les donjons de Sainte-Colome, de Castet et d'Uzos comptent parmi les plus anciens.
Le château de Sainte-Colome fut brûlé lors des guerres de Religion. Son seigneur, Antoine de Montesquiou, chef catholique dans l'armée, capitula après une dure bataille devant les troupes protestantes. Il fut emprisonné et dagué de sang-froid, sur ordre, et sans autre forme de procès ... Le château ne fut pas reconstruit : trop cher ? architecture trop fruste ? La menace musulmane n’étant désormais plus d’actualité…toujours est-il qu'il devint carrière de pierres, puis bâtiment de dépendance agricole au XlXème siècle. Il est aujourd'hui « patrimoine protégé » … mais pas des ruines qui menacent de l’engloutir à jamais s’il est laissé en l’état actuel de déshérence !

He was imprisoned and stabbed in cold blood, on orders, and without further ado ... The castle was not rebuilt: too expensive? architecture too crude? The Muslim threat was no longer relevant ... the fact remains that it became a stone quarry, then an agricultural outbuilding in the 19th century. Today it is "protected heritage" ... but not ruins that threaten to engulf it forever if it is left in its current state of disinheritance!

Mont Vélan is a mountain of the Pennine Alps, located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. At 3,727, metres Mont Vélan is the highest summit lying between the Great St Bernard Pass and Grand Combin. Two large glaciers cover its northern flanks: Glacier de Tseudet (west) and Glacier de Valsoray (east). The Glacier de Proz, lying on the west side, was traversed during the first ascent.
The mountain is located south of Bourg-Saint-Pierre in the canton of Valais and north of Etroubles in the Aosta Valley. The Petit Vélan is a lower summit in the same massif lying north to the main summit.
Le mont Vélan est un sommet des Alpes pennines (3 727 mètres) sur la frontière entre l'Italie (Vallée d'Aoste) et la Suisse (canton du Valais). Il se trouve à proximité du col du Grand-Saint-Bernard, le long de la ligne de partage des eaux entre le Valpelline et la vallée du Grand-Saint-Bernard.
Der Mont Vélan ist ein 3731 m hoher Berg in den westlichen Walliser Alpen. Über den Hauptgipfel verläuft die Grenze zwischen der Schweiz und Italien. Damit liegt er in der italienischen Provinz Aosta und dem Schweizer Kanton Wallis.
Als Nebengipfel umfasst der Berg sodann die nördlich und nordöstlich in der Schweiz liegenden Pétit Vélan, 3202 m, und Mont de la Gouille, 3212 m, sowie im Weiteren auf dem Grenzgrat westlich zum Großen St. Bernhard die Les Rayons de la Madelaine, 3051 m und östlich zum Col de Valsoray (in Richtung des Grand Combin (4314 m)) den Mont Cordine, 3329 m. Nach Süden fällt der Mont Vélan über 1000 m mit einer steilen Wand ab, im Norden ist er durch den Valsoreygletscher und den Tseudetgletscher vergletschert.

1 dag later werd begonnen aan L24, want 3x per week rijdt er een trein vanaf Zeebrugge (B) via Genk (B) naar Novara (IT), vroeger ging deze trein naar Piacenza (IT). Sinds de wijziging naar Novara, rijden er ook veel meer LKW Walter trailers mee met de trein. In Augustus stelt het trein verkeer naar Italië nooit zoveel voor, maar gelukkig reed de trein wel op 19 Augustus 2025. Met de allerlaatste rode Class 66 op kop met het Crossrail logo, en ook nog eens de fraaie Arcese trailers achter de lok, was het plaatje van Novara shuttle 40265 bij Berneau (B) compleet, en was het de Crossrail DE6301 die met de trein onderweg was naar Montzen Frontiere (B) e.v.

* Depuis le flanc de la montagne, dans la forêt de hêtres, on a une belle vue sur les 3000m qui sont à la frontière. A droite , le pic de Maupas, à 3110m. Lorsque l'on suit la crête vers la gauche, on aperçoit les résidus des glaciers, protégés du soleil par la verticalité, jusqu'au pic de Boum, 3004m, central sur l'image. Toute la partie entre les deux pics était jadis couverte par ce glacier. On voit très bien l'érosion produite.
* From the mountainside, in the forest, we can have a good sight on the 3000 meter peaks standing on the border with Spain. On the right, the Maupas peak, with 3110 meters height. From here, and following the ridge on the left, we have what remains of glaciers, protected from the sunlight by the verticality of the walls. Then the Boum peak (3004m), standing in the middle of the picture. Between those two peaks, this large area was covered with ice back to ancient time. We can see erosion of rocks there.

Not far from the Swiss border which we shall often cross.
It was on Sunday. "Off season" Sunday.
An "apathetic" snow. Scattered. Just like us. Lost in a blank space which we will fill with our looks eager for big spaces and our internal and cheerful releases. As an abandoned fair by its public we are creating our own merry-go-round going from one merry-go-round to an other merry-go-round.
Das Allgäu ist der südöstlichste Teil Schwabens am Nordrand der Alpen in Süddeutschland. Der größte Teil des Allgäus liegt in Bayern, ein kleinerer in Baden-Württemberg. Ici se terminent les rubans des hautes falaise normandes pour aboutir sur Ault. Ville frontière, un no man's land qui donne sur la Baie de Somme, Picardie, et le chapelet des plats pays de l'Europe du Nord.
De ce dernier promontoire on y voit même le Danemark !

Le quartier d'Esch-Belval au Luxembourg depuis la campagne française (Russange en Moselle)
La frontière entre la France et le Grand-Duché de Luxembourg s'étend sur 73 kilomètres de longueur, au nord-est de la France et au sud du Luxembourg.
Elle débute à l'ouest au tripoint Belgique-France-Luxembourg à la jonction de la commune belge de Aubange (Province de Luxembourg), de la commune française de Mont-Saint-Martin (département de Meurthe-et-Moselle) et de la commune luxembourgeoise de Pétange (canton d'Esch-sur-Alzette). Ce point est situé sur la Chiers.
Elle suit ensuite une direction générale vers l'est jusqu'au tripoint Allemagne-France-Luxembourg à la jonction de la commune allemande de Perl (land de la Sarre), de la commune française d'Apach (département de la Moselle) et de la commune luxembourgeoise de Schengen (canton de Remich). Ce point est situé sur la Moselle.

La porterie, où les visiteurs attendent maintenant le départ de la visite guidée, était un lieu primordial dans l’Abbaye : elle marquait la frontière entre son univers clos et protégé et le monde extérieur. Le frère portier était chargé d’accueillir ceux qui se présentaient au seuil du monastère : novices, pèlerins, voyageurs, marchands, mais aussi pauvres et infirmes qui demandaient l’aumône.
The gatehouse, where visitors now await the departure of the guided tour, was a primordial place in the Abbey: it marked the border between its closed and protected world and the outside world. The brother porter was responsible for welcoming those who presented themselves at the threshold of the monastery: novices, pilgrims, travelers, merchants, but also the poor and infirm who asked for alms.

Belval est un quartier d'Esch-sur-Alzette dans le sud-ouest du Luxembourg, à proximité de la frontière française. De grandes aciéries dominent le site de Belval qui fait l'objet d'un vaste plan de réaménagement transformant la friche industrielle en un centre scientifique et culturel, la "Cité des Sciences à Belval".
Dans le cadre de la régénération, deux hauts fourneaux ont été préservés et une ancienne fonderie classée a été transformée en une nouvelle bibliothèque universitaire à l'atmosphère muséale. Le nouveau bâtiment a été construit à l'intérieur de l'ancienne installation en préservant son caractère et ses caractéristiques principales et est une structure autoportante. En raison du réaménagement complexe, le bâtiment de la fonderie a également été agrandi pour inclure une garderie et un hall d'entrée relié à la bibliothèque.
La nouvelle bibliothèque offre un espace pour environ 100 000 livres pour tous les départements universitaires ainsi qu'un lieu pour les réceptions en soirée.

Belval is a district of Esch-sur-Alzette in the south-west of Luxembourg, close to the French border. Large steelworks dominate the Belval site, which is the subject of a vast redevelopment plan transforming the industrial wasteland into a scientific and cultural centre, the "Cité des Sciences à Belval".
As part of the regeneration, two blast furnaces have been preserved and a former listed foundry has been transformed into a new university library with a museum atmosphere. The new building was constructed inside the old facility preserving its character and main features and is a freestanding structure. Due to the complex redevelopment, the foundry building was also extended to include a nursery and an entrance hall connected to the library.
The new library provides space for approximately 100,000 books for all academic departments as well as a venue for evening receptions.

All the photos I present were taken in the town of Taormina (Sicily);
I made photos related to "street photography";
I made portraits of people I did not know, this certainly thanks to their sympathy and availability, I thank them very much;
I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate nella cittadina di Taormina (Sicilia);
ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho realizzato dei ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, questo certamente grazie alla loro simpatia e disponibilità, li ringrazio davvero molto;
ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.
