A macro of a frog i found in the garden

I was beginning to give up on my guys - everybody else posting images of mating frogs and mine were few in number and generally not bothering. Today that all changed and there is splashing and croaking everywhere. Might try again tomorrow.

This is very early for here,last year it was well into April.

Frogs often seem very laid back to me. This one seems especially serene.

Frog in Gemenc,Hungary

Common frog returning to St Mary'y Conservation Pond Mablethorpe Feb 28th 2012.

This morning we saw at least six frogs making their way to the pond. Also Mallard bucks are begining to look for mates.

Photographically speaking, this has been the summer of frogs for me. I have seen and photographed more frogs than I have through the rest of my life.

So, to celebrate the summer of frogs, and to mark this place for the future, when I'm crusing through my photostream, here are six more frog photos.

Someone - Poem by Walter de la Mare

Someone came knocking

At my wee, small door;

Someone came knocking;

I'm sure-sure-sure;

I listened, I opened,

I looked to left and right,

But nought there was a stirring

In the still dark night;

Only the ......

....tiny frog sitting on my doorstep!

(With apologies to Walter de la Mare)

This little frog was sitting on my doorstep facing the door, presumably sheltering from the rain and keeping warm but it did look very funny as I opened the door.

Thank you for your visit, comment or fave. All are much appreciated
