As we cycled through the Mekong Delta we met many friendly people

After the poses, I shot this one with the camera lowered.

A red squirrel feeding close to the ranger's lodge on the Whinfell Red Squirrel Reserve, part of the 400-acre Center Parcs site in Scots pine woodland to the east of Penrith. Center Parcs employs a full-time red squirrel ranger to protect its 200-strong population against incursion by the grey. The latter is an American species whose introduction to Britain during the eighteenth century has resulted in a catastrophic decline in the native red. There are three million greys (classed officially as vermin) and just 140,000 reds, 80 per cent of which are in Scotland.

These friendly neighbors came to see me, because they thought I had some food for them. Alas, I didn't.

Any criticism and comments are welcome.

I could not decide between color and bw

I came across this friendly fellow when I was looking for the Pigeon House near Glassan. He didn't seem at all perturbed by the camera and I was playing with the camera dials, making them click so that his ears would rise and fall with the sound!

sitting on my front porch at some god-awful early hour of the morning, waiting for the tow-truck to come and jumpstart my car when all of a sudden, little buddy here (whom i've never seen before in my life) jumps up onto the porch, comes over and starts rubbing up against my back and legs and just generally making himself (or herself) at home.

much friendlier than the peeping tomcat has ever been, that's for sure.

and his friendly friends!

Whilst trying to photograph butterflies, this lovely female White-legged Damselfly landed on my hand

Well there! I'd intended to take your picture from further away, but apparently my camera looks edible.
