Here we are. This is my first big job on a portrait, using all the different technics I had learnt : dodge and burn, frequency separation, Hue and Saturation, Noise, Highlights, Shadows, playing and making a dedicated background with a DIY vignetting.

Feel free to comment please, from bad to good comments, I would appreciate it !

Strobist info : I think that the first lighting setup is The Key of success before any post-processing action :

An Godox Witstro Ad600 in a octabox in front of model (2,40 m high) and slightly on the right side of the subject. Powered at -1 in TTL.

On each sides of the model, fairly behind (at 2 and 10 hours), at 1.80 m height, a speedlight in a softbox (80 cm x 80 cm). Powered at 1/1 in manual mode at zoom 24 mm.

Found this image languishing on my hard drive. I used some of my newer techniques (frequency separation to create a realistic airbrush look to her facial make-up) and software (Sharpen AI) to work some magic on this image.

According to [https://www.flickr.com/photos/paulthegeek] and Kevin D (on FB), this is Hailey S Cosplay.

Another friend, Trent, used his "Google-Fu" and ID'ed the character as Seong Mi-Na in her Soul Calibur IV outfit.

Thanks guys for all the identification assist with this image.

I truly have not a clue who this lovely Scarlet Witch cosplayer is. I wanted to flex some creative "muscle" on this and used a whole bunch of different filters, techniques, and actions.

Please keep in mind, I was cosplaying at the time when I took this photo with my little Sony camera.

Model: Nadira

One light set up using Impact 5ft reflective umbrella and canon speedlight. Post in ACR and frequency separation in Photoshop.

I honestly do not know who she is supposed to be or from what series or game. Any help in identifying the character and cosplayer would be greatly appreciated.

Just a fun and (bit) goofy shot of these two attendees.

Ominous dark clouds passing overhead, shafts of light on the water of Loch Lomond.

Taken from Duncryne Hill aka The Dumpling.

Also in shiny colour

One of my Dragon Con cosplay buddies from the Harley Flash Mob, Jenna_Say_What. I also ran into her at Katsucon.

The lighting in this specific spot at the Gaylord was horrid. I spent a lot of time on doing multiple tiny edits to correct for this.

This is Lisa. I tried to create a retro look in this image.

Strobist info :

One QT600II in an octabox facing the model slightly on the left side (main light).

2 bares QT600II lighting the background on each sides of the model (+making slight rim light on the face and fingers).

Processing :

Skin work, frequency separation to balance the tones, eyes work to sharpen and enhance, dodge and burn, VSCO portra base + tweaks.

The person was cross-dressing or gender-fluid.

I try to get a photo of Maggie whenever we bump into one another. This is not always possible as she vends (whimsical clay figurines that she makes) at events.

I was highly amused by her tank-top. If only people really did come with warning labels in real-life.

From the Birds of Prey dream sequence.

Experimented with different textured backgrounds and blend modes to see if I could resurrect this very dark image. I have another shot of this cosplayer using a fill-flash but all of the lights just under her skirt could not be seen.

press L on keyboard for larger view without distractions, cheers Ed

Two of my cosplay friends, Kalika and Stabs, as Jubilee and Mera.

While this image is a bit old (as it is currently nine year old and I just re-discovered it as it was "hiding" on one of my hard drives), I really like it as I can see my personal style starting to "gel" (more angled images, background framing, setting up poses, etc.)

I've only watched a handful of Naruto episodes. While I am unfamiliar with the characters' names, I do know that in the anime, they are male. Which makes all of these ladies "gender-bent" versions of the characters.

Pamela.
