I call this fraud-graphs as the original photo was taken at midday. Using lightroom, I was able to change a blown out midday sky into a golden hour sunrise/sunset sky. Fraud!!

I had planned to say something about 'abundance' to go along with this image. Seems like a really great example of the abundance of nature and life in general, doesn't it?
Maybe I was looking in the wrong places for a good quote, but they all sounded like they were out of one of those seminars where people pay thousands of dollars for someone to tell them how amazing they are, and that they 'deserve' prosperity and abundance..
Personally, I have no problem 'accepting abundance' - but that may be because I'm not wallowing in it. Don't get me wrong - I feel blessed to have been rewarded for the hard work I've put in over the years. But I do feel that I have earned everything I have, and I am pretty particular about the charity I choose.
Which is why nothing disgusts me more than the waste and fraud that our 'entitlement' programs are drowning in. It takes food and shelter out of the mouths of those who truly deserve and need it.
Like the guy standing with the cardboard sign at the traffic light that says "Hungry - will work for food - God bless". Except that they aren't (hungry) , they won't (work), and I hate seeing a fraud tugging on the heartstrings of honest, but naive drivers.
These frauds eventually harden the hearts of those naive, loving people, when they watch them carefully fold up their intentionally mis-spelled cardboard signs and put them in the trunk along with the worn clothes that hint at being a down on his luck vet.
If Karma really is a bitch, they are in for a really bad day someday.
With doubt of the 2020 election still being screamed by the GOP I wonder what they have been up to in Maricopa County....

I wonder who is behind these billboards, which seem to be appearing all over the place? I noticed this one last Tuesday evening while walking down Whitworth Street in Manchester. There’s a website that sort of explains the whole “legal name fraud” conspiracy theory, but not in a way that makes a great deal of sense….
I first reported this fake Instagram account using my photos on December 19, 2022. It is STILL up, and STILL using my photos. I am at a loss what to do.

Created for the movie Magnum Opus which is the story of an ex-marine turned artist and cryptographer. I was tasked with making his series.
The character is named Sean Dabashi and played by the amazing actor Pej Vahdat who is probably most well known for his role Arastoo Vaziri in the TV show Bones.
We broke SAG rules by shooting this before principle photography began, but we didn't have a choice because of the schedule.
In the movie, he is a double faced betrayer of the main character...hence the image which was shot unceremoniously in my bathroom mirror.

Six years ago I was asked to create a nine piece series for the film Magnum Opus.
The concept of the film sounded intriguing - An ex-marine and war photographer saw some terrible things go down in Afghanistan, retired to become an artist (and cryptologist) and paint a series of works where he would secretly encode the narrative into the paintings themselves. Kind of like pulling an Edward Snowden.
And I thought this was awesome.
In reading the script I was confused as to how the main character's art technique was exactly like mine and the director's response (who was a friend and collector of mine) said, "Well, we based the main character on you."

nessa primeira foto, dá p perceber que a fita foi cortada e passaram uma outra fita adesiva por cima da original... o grande detalhe é que o carimbo com a data da postagem está na fita de baixo (original) e naum está na fita de cima.... o que demonstra que a caixa foi aberta e depois alguém dos correios colou uma nova fita de sedex por cima da original. (que sujos!!!)
*SPOILER ALERT FOR UNCHARTED 4*
So... I was all worried that something untoward would happen to one of the characters in Uncharted 4... completely unnecessarily! Everyone came out unscathed, and the ending was so lovely.
As for my figures? I actually prefer them having played the game; maybe I've got used to them, but I'm happier with the likenesses now. Certainly Drake poses much more naturally in his current incarnation than he did in his last one, and looks a leetle bit younger, I think.
This is not Stephanie, it is Ellie. She and the bartender decided it would be funny to switch name tags and see if anyone noticed. It took me a while.
BTW, Ellie is the one I rely on for my Pfister pics, other than the close-up selfies.
It was, and has been since the introduction of the hauled working, 1K96, 1934 Llandudno-Crewe.
From today, it's 1K68.

Today I fell for a phishing scam. :( A friend of mine sends me a link via Yahoo IM asking me to check out some geocities link. I click on it, and I get a Yahoo 360 sign-in page. "Strange that you'd need to sign in to see a geocities page, but Yahoo does own geocities, and I haven't been there in a while," I think.
So I put in my username/password and just get a Yahoo 360 homepage. Weird. I IM my friend to ask what the deal is, but he doesn't reply. I'm in the middle of working, so I quickly get distracted by other duties and don't think about it much.
A while later, I get a reply from my friend, along the lines of, "Huh?" Turns out he never sent me the link! "Crap!" I think. "I'm a doofus! I just fell for a phishing scam!" My friend had gotten the same link from one of HIS friends, and so I bet the bad guys have a program that recorded his password when he typed it into that bogus page, then logged in to his Yahoo IM account and spammed it to everyone on his buddy list.
It's quite insidious, because you're tempted to trust links your friends send you, and because this doesn't require any spyware on your computer; it's all done over the web.
So again, people, don't be an idiot like me. Think twice before putting your password in a page that asks for it!
Oh, and needless to say, I immediately reported the page to Yahoo (and it's been taken down now), changed my Yahoo password, and then changed the password in the various other places I use that same password, just in case. I also emailed everyone in my Yahoo IM buddy list to warn them, just in case my account sent them the bogus URL, too. Pain in the ass.

Richard Dawkins (the original meme creator) was with Robyn Blumner, CEO of the Center for Inquiry (CFI) and board member and fellow VC, David Cowen. And I learned something shocking when she told us why CFI is suing CVS and Walmart for medical fraud. Walmart carries over 1000 homeopathic remedies (including their own Equate private label). This is water. It is being sold as children’s medicine for serious conditions, from asthma to ear infections. In most cases, the box face just has a little single-word “homeopathic” disclaimer to distinguish it. It is sold alongside real medicine on the same store shelf and among search results online. I wonder if many of the 5 million buyers in America understand that it cannot possibly have any health benefits beyond the placebo effect. Who falls for this? Buying for their sick children? The FDA and FTC have done little to stem the profiting from human frailties, afraid perhaps to directly challenge an “alternative medicine” from the 1700s.
From a recent Vox article: “Homeopathy is a $1.2 billion industry in the US alone. Many misidentify homeopathy as ‘natural’ and describe it as plant-based or herbal medicine. It’s not.
Guiding principles of homeopathy today:
• Like cures like: Homeopathy posits that a substance that produces a disease’s symptoms in a healthy person is a cure for that disease. (In the case of the remedy known simply as “Berlin Wall,” conditions caused by communication problems are said to be cured by tablets made from finely ground, diluted shards of the actual Berlin Wall, because it was once a concrete barrier to communication.)
• Law of minimum dose: The lower the dose, say homeopathic practitioners, the more potent the remedy. To that end, homeopathic remedies are extremely diluted. Many are so diluted, in fact, that they contain no detectable molecules of the ‘mother tincture.’ Hahnemann (the inventor of homeopathy) intended to avoid poisoning, as many of the substances that he introduced as remedies were toxic. But soon his rationale became less, well, rational: ‘Vital energy’ was transmitted during dilution, Hahnemann believed, so none of the original substance needed to remain.”

“By displaying a product under children's cough release or, even worse, a product under asthma medication, which can kill children and does kill children— you are making an affirmative claim that it treats asthma. And homeopathic products just don't treat them. And most people simply don't know what they're buying. They're being defrauded by the companies that manufacture them and by the retailers who market them.
The FDA will certify that a homeopathic medication is safe, and it has the ingredients it says it does but not whether or not it works. As long as something is listed in this big book, 'The Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia,' then you don't have to demonstrate that the product works.
Somehow they come around to the idea that flu symptoms are caused by the heart and liver of a particular kind of duck, so that they treat it with the heart and the liver of a particular kind of duck. But even more unscientifically, the second principle is the law of infinitesimal doses. And they base this on the idea that water has a memory. It can remember what is dissolved in it even when there is none of the alleged active ingredient left. This is one of the most ludicrous things suggested. And yet billions of dollars every year in the United States are spent on these products.” — NPR

It’s not only a matter of consumer financial loss, but also consumer health. missing a true Heaven. You can get lost from it in your pursuits
of a material life. There are gifts that God is waiting to give
you when you are ready! And the longer you take to get ready,
possibly lifetimes… and the more lost you become and the
more astray you go, the more the gift is lost and the connection
is broken. Seek the power of the truth that is always spoken!
Your breasts, like pearls. Your body brings ecstasy. This gift
is meant to parallel the feeling of Heaven and it is a gift from
God: not meant to be exploited by anybody! Only lost ones,
and dark hearts seek the exploitation of the gifts of the light.
Sex is a gift and God provided it, because God is Love. God
gave the gift of Life. Therefore, God stands Above! Consider
God in all matters. Consider God with Love. You do this, and
you will perceive beings that are of Heaven. This i know to be
True. Then all successes will be in reach, not only financially,
but spiritually. If this is something you don’t care about, than
continue to do you. Just keep in mind that our children's
children will be screwed! Our descendants, always failing!
Why, because if we don’t lead Our people in the “right”
direction, who will? We can lead simply by living decent lives,
and being a positive influence, but instead, we put our bodies
up for give and take. And there’s always people waiting in the
shadows, waiting to point out our flaws, and our mistakes!
We call ourselves goddesses, queens, princesses and more.
So why influence women, and young girls to act like whores?!
This is what some women do! And just because they may be
educated doesn’t make it right. Manipulated, manipulative
fools… Following these self proclaimed so called “Kings” that
exploit you! Notice the relationship drama on television or at
home? Notice the declining importance of life and love, and the
rising importance of primitiveness in relations to sex? Notice
the pain, and needless killings inflicted from one person to
the next. Is your worth really Valued in the world? Products…
of a clever ruse, meant to Stop your peoples Evolution and
cause Your People to Disappear off the face of the Planet,
One by One, and to never discover your gifts from God. This
is the resulting future… of female empowerment fraud.

Note the "RDPIII" mark in the upper left corner. That is the mark for Fujichrome Provia 100f Professional film. Rather skillfully done, but the ebay scammer made the mistake of stealing one of my photos-he didn't know I'm searching ebay for interesting HK slides on a weekly basis. My advice to other slide collectors is to do a Google image search before you bid-it might save you from being scammed.
