This is the skeleton for the firewall mold. The short leg is the same angle as the s-panel. This mold will go in a vacuum bag, so it needs to have enough strength to withstand 14psi.
Lab2014 students presented their final design explorations for Benjamin Bratton's Critical Frameworks section, "2 or 3 Things I Know About The Stack" at The California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) at UCSD. The group visited an immersive 3-D projection "CAVE", a 4K digital theater and the nanotech cleanrooms on campus, as well as The Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

There followed a panel discussion on Whole Energy System Transition with Jo Aston, Managing Director at SONI (System Operator for Northern Ireland), Dr Andrew Cripps, Regional Director, Sustainability at AECOM, Charlie Simpson, Partner and Head of Mobility 2030, Global Strategy Group at KPMG UK, Michael McKinstry, Group Chief Executive Officer at Phoenix Natural Gas. Two parallel sessions followed: the first session on Energy Consumption was Chaired by Grainia Long, Commissioner for Resilience at Belfast City Council, with panellists: Pat Austin, Director at National Energy Action (NEA) Northern Ireland, Karl Purcell, Programme Manager of Behavioural Economics Unit at Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Professor Tom Woolley, Visiting Professor at Anglia Ruskin University, Richard Leach, Local Area Energy Planning Consultant at Energy Systems Catapult. The second session on Energy Production was Chaired by John Young, Head of Policy, Northern Ireland and Ireland, SSE, with panellists: Dara Lynott, Chief Executive at Electricity Association of Ireland (EAI), David Smith, Chief Executive at Energy Networks Association (ENA), Chris Johnston, Principal Scientist & Project Leader, Agri Environmental Technologies Unit at Agri-Food & Biosciences Institute (AFBI), Professor Neil Hewitt, Professor of Energy/Director of the Centre for Sustainable Technologies at Ulster University. Reportage from the parallel sessions and the final session on A New Strategic Energy Framework was Chaired by Eleanor McEvoy, Chair at Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Northern Ireland Energy Group. A large thermohaline cell (affected by both temperature and salinity) characterizes the general circulation in the Mediterranean Sea. Circulation is driven by the water balance deficit and by the heat fluxes between the sea and the atmosphere. The water deficit, caused by greater evaporation than precipitation and river run-off, is mainly compensated for by the inflow of Atlantic water through the Straits of Gibraltar and by the water contribution from the Black Sea through the Straits of the Dardanelles. The exchange of heat with the atmosphere, leading to the cooling and subsequent sinking of surface waters, also contributes to the thermohaline circulation.

Tourism contributes CO2 emissions, mostly through increased use of air and road transportation. Beyond that, the major direct pressure from coastal tourism on the marine and coastal environment is the demand for space, both in the coastal zone, resulting mainly in urbanization, and on the coastline itself, through construction of marinas and other infrastructure that leads to concretisation of the shores. The concentration of tourism within specific geographical areas and limited time periods increases pressure on natural resources such as fresh water and leads to higher rates of sewage and solid waste production. Coastal tourism is, by definition, located in sensitive habitats within the coastal zone, such as beaches, sand dunes, and wetlands. The unavoidable result is change in the state of these habitats and their associated ecosystems, as well as economic impacts on other activities that benefit from coastal ecosystem services. Unsustainable development of mass tourism will result in the rapid degradation of fragile natural habitats (EEA and UNEP 1999, UNEP/MAP/MED POL 2005).
