As recently as about 12 years ago, this was pure open space. We used to go hiking all around the fields and hills here.
This was the original Porter Ranch, it's boundaries were as far south as Devonshire Street in Northridge. Now, instead of it being called the 'Porter Ranch area of Northridge' it is a community all of it's very own, just north of the 118 Freeway with a population of about 25,000. Since they reopened the Winnetka Ave. overpass over the 118 Freeway and renamed it Porter Ranch Drive, it is a very convienient location.
The first stores at the Porter Ranch Town Center opened about 10 years ago. In the distance, looking north, are the Santa Susana Mountains. There are still great places to go hiking.
An interesting note, much of the 1982 movie, E.T. The Extraterrestrial was filmed in Porter Ranch.
What This Looked Like In The Early 80's
Bike Scene From E.T. (Not the original music and everything is this area except the Deodar trees on White Oak Ave.)

note: in addition to the workflow referenced below, the app "frametastic" by imaginary feet was used on the iPad 2 to create the framing layout prior to performinng step 3...
for those interested in iphonography, the itemization of the workflow used for the images in this series might prove helpful.
Dash cam photos taken from a recent Vegas trip with my Apple iPhone 5 & edited using the Frametastic app.
These girls were so cute as they were walking across the street with their balloons. Maybe they were going to a party. So sweet and happy! And pretty in pink in the pink hour :-)

#MobileArtistry is creative edits, beautiful images, unique perspectives, stellar shots, and happy accidents. IE, stuff you won't find on the pop page.
Through this ongoing project we hope to expose people to art and artists they may not normally get to see, learn about one another's process, and encourage each other to push the limits of creativity.

Tonight's submission is from Kit, aka @kitkite, let's hear about her process.
I want to thank @mobileartistry for the opportunity to be featured, and for anyone that takes an interest in my images- I truly appreciate and I'm honored by it.
My creative process has been one that, quite recently, has evolved and simultaneously been defined by the question “what is home” and the ideas and objects that make up the physical landscape in which we live in. I have found myself consistently drawn to average household shapes and forms, and what could be viewed as domestic materials and or the common parts and tools of “household” living, as a vehicle to express my idea. The series of photos entitled “The X Housewife Portraits” and the subtitles were first derived from a concept of short stories I had written called “The Suburban Screen.” But unlike the overplayed stereotypes of droning suburbia, with it’s unsatisfied life of the culture-less, status ego consumer, I chose to explore and depict the fixed objects as the discontented personalities rather than the people. As a result, I depicting myself as the prop and the objects as the posing figure in the setting of a self portrait study and series. This idea stemmed from my own personal struggle in how now to relate to and what feels like my own disconnect from what I once was, and how I now relate to my physical surroundings.
As for the photo’s process- all my images are shot on the iphone and bounce between the filters found on the Frametastic app and IG’s. I work the photo until I find the effect Im looking for and then post the sucker....it’s a pretty simple process that I really have grown to enjoy and look forward to creating each time i do so.
Apparently this is "a thing" with kids these days. Go into the snow in your bathing suit and roll around in it. I made my daughter take it up a notch by doing snow angels.
Montage of the guy from the "Caution Wet Floor" sign. Used PhotoStudio to change the colors and Frametastic to make the montage.
This old Bekins Moving and Storage building built in the 1930's with it's Italianate architecture is now a business called the Wine Vault. I wonder if they take up all seven stories! And I love that the Jacaranda trees in the center median of S. Brand Blvd. are blooming with their purple blossoms. They bloom in May and June all throughout Glendale.

My son was born on friday mornig the 19 Aug 2011 :) We have stayed here at the hospital for two days now. I played around with some apps on yhe iphonr and got some great results. But the motive made it much easier to get the good result ;)
The picture is simple, she served as a test for the application Frametastic, just as Apple and Pink Christmas tree that you can not even see. By cons, you can see one of three dresses Apple received today. All I need more than her wig and glasses.
Pink : pig eraser, iwaco
Tagged by @aka_mrj97 for my #TOPFIVEMARVEL characters. Wow this is hard. Well first 3 are actually easy, buts gets pretty muddy after that.
1) #Hawkeye, forever my fav- first comic book I ever read (1983). Cool on many levels. I identify with certain aspects of his personality. Comic version not the boring movie version.
2) #SpiderMan, the Every-Nerd's hero, bullied and picked on to one of the greatest super-heroes ever.
3) #DoctorDoom, how the hell he isn't ruling the 616 by now I'll never know!
4) #BlackCat, Spidey's naughty lady, anti-hero, white-haired sexpot- what's not to love. Take a seat MJ.
5) #Wolverine, Fan fav? Overly popular? Over used? Marvel's Batman? Yes, Yep, Yeah, Yup! But come on! Logan is pure badass. With or without Admantium- he's the best there is a what he does... we all know the rest.
Honorable mentions:
• #Storm, nearly took Wolverine's spot at 5. Gimme 80's Mohawk, leatherclad with the punk rock mohawk any day! Best leader the #XMen ever seen. Pure badassery. • #Deadpool, hated by me through the years bc he was created in part by the awful Rob Liefeld. This character has won me over with a little help from a friend.
• #Magneto, just one of the most complex characters in the Marvel universe to me. Interesting on so many levels. • #SilverSurfer/#Galactus, where ever they are, epic stories often follow.
• #Hulk, before hulks started falling outta sky in the Marvel U, THE HULK was one of my fav tortured characters. WAS one of a kind back in those days. Peter David's run- awesome.

ignoblin: Ha ha... Yeah I'll try to play but I'll be lost making this list. There are so many characters that are only good to me when they are written well. However I'll put myself up to the task. Thanks for the inclusion.
doctornvrmore: @ignoblin I'm super surprised you've not been asked 10x already.
ignoblin: I'm not so cool these days, and people are probably afraid I'll write a novel about the whole ordeal. 😂
bakokoswick: What app did you use for this? Mine are 1) wonderman 2) spiderman 3) thanos during the gauntlet days 4) hulk 5) wolverine
doctornvrmore: @bakokoswick Frametastic with the video montage add on and iMovie to add the music... Of course I also like Flipogram - can make video montage and add music to it on that app... Great list... I loved Wonderman in the West Coast Avengers days.
doctornvrmore: @thecomicalchemist I did this a few weeks ago... In answer to your post today.
