Basalt Fracture - Petit Manan Point, Maine
Pentax 67 75mm f/4.5 @ f/16 1/30 Sec FP4 Plus Xtol 1+1
Patterns in nature have always fascinated and I'm compelled to photograph details within the natural landscape.
Basalt is dark. Visually and photographically it takes on a somewhat chalky dark gray appearance when dry. There is not much to work with as far as tonal separation. Beyond tonality, there are textures. The character of the stone comes through.
