the dark vs light imagery in this painting was sort of accidental, but it's very representational of my relationship with fort mason. It's a beautifully groomed park of gently rolling hills perched on the edge of the city, with gorgeous views and surrounded by an affluent neighborhood. I routinely walk there from my gritty downtown neighborhood and the transition from neighborhood to neighborhood is really striking. The Marina secludes itself, and likes it that way. I feel like sand in an oyster every time i go to fort mason.
