It amazes me what people throw out. Sure it's got a scratch, but the art is amazing...

Will try to revise this later to include the signature.

Oh the glee when I found pink glazing and sprinkles. That sugar kicked in before you could say ... ''Us going off like that, it was because it tasted of fun!' : she explained to me just now.

A genuine 'found' photograph. It was in the pages of a school text book on drugs, published 1975.

The book was bought in a Stockport charity shop, so this might be a local school.

A roll of 620 exposed in a Kodak Junior I purchased from a collector.

Found photo. All it says on the back is: "Norma and her brother."

Found slide in unbranded glass frame showing two women stood by a lake, with a sign saying "St Gottard" behind them.

A new one on me that I found in my garden for the first time this year, back in June. The first on Lemon balm and then 5 more on rosemary. Not sure if I am happy to see them!

This picture has just been selected as the cover photo for The Hertfordshire Naturalist 2013 - the Annual report from the Hertfordshire Natural History Society. Now that IS an honour! Thank you!

The RHS website says : The rosemary beetle (Chrysolina americana) devours the leaves of rosemary, lavender, thyme, sage and some other related plants. It is an attractive 8mm long metallic green beetle with purple stripes on its wing cases and thorax. The beetle is a native of southern Europe that has become an established pest in Britain since the 1990s.

The soft-bodied grubs are greyish white with five darker longitudinal lines; fully grown larvae are 5-8mm long. Sausage-shaped eggs, 2mm long, may be found on the underside of the leaves from early autumn to spring.

Found this at a flea. I have a nice collection of old photos. This is one of my favorites. Maybe I'll start posting more of them.

Found some photos I had never posted to Flickr, so I thought I'd start posting a few over the next few days.

These are all "found slides" that were taken by my Father-in-law's Father. They span from the 1940s through the 1970's.

If you recall back when I was archiving all these photos I ended up keeping around 150 of the ones that I thought came out the best and had people or places in them that might mean something to someone in the family.

I did some minor color correction and cleaning up of any mold on the slides in post. I didn't trim them so you'll see some bordering from the scan. While I personally detest borders on photos, this is just done out of laziness and time constraints. I can always go back and fix that.

Normally I would never post someone else's photo on my page, but I'm making an exception for these.

Some need a secondary touch up. But for now enjoy some people and places from an era that seems long ago and I'm glad to have done the work to get these digitized.
