The organizing committee including the Elizabeth Public Schools, County of Union, City of Elizabeth and many local businesses would like to thank all the volunteers and contributors who helped par take in this luncheon which fed over 1000 people and gave over 350 toys to children.
This is a photocopy of a partially burnt and melted Kodachrome photo salvaged from my 2004 studio fire. Taken in 1964 in New York's Central Park, it shows my late father Bill pushing me on the swing.
His quiet, intellectual rather than physical, nature is perfectly captured here - despite the considerable momentum imparted to my forward swing, he has quickly returned back to standing to attention.
The similarity of the top edge of this photo to Hokusai's Great Wave Off Kanagawa - due to fire damage - is interesting. My father, who passed away last February, was an experimental and theoretical physicist deeply engaged more than anything else with the particle-versus-wave question - a core issue in Quantum Mechanics.
His great intellect, passion for science, and qualities as a teacher has provided all sorts of forward momentums (momenta?) in my life as a philosopher, artist, healer, and human being.
The Great Wave rolls on from back across the generations.
Looking forward to the movie Les Misérables. Marilyn was once part of that group but has moved up in the world.

I used to fear change. Such a steep hill to climb. Since you left the words you used to shout whisper to me; and I hear more clearly than ever what you were trying to say. So now I move along with the wind, and I am no longer afraid.
